My Copies are in storage, but I remember the hero of "Lorelei" being named "Conan" and not Eric John Stark. "Queen of the Martian Catacombs" appears to be the first Stark story. It was published three years after "Lorelei of the Red Mists".

I have not yet got a copy of this story, but this appears to be correct. I'll remove the reference to "Lorelei". RandomCritic 18:17, 2 February 2006 (UTC) I've now got a copy of Lorelei of the Red Mist. The protagonist is Hugh Starke, who takes on the identity of a Venusian warrior called Conan. Stark and the Star Kings edit

The Other section says, "A final story Stark and the Star Kings (2005) places Stark into the world of her husband Edmond Hamilton's Star Kings series, making it a rare collaboration between the two."

Since Brackett died 1978 and Hamilton the year before, the story clearly is not from 2005; that is the publication year for the collection of the same name. And that collection seems a little confused as to when the story was actually written and/or published. My copy (the Baen 2008 ebook) gives it a 1949 copyright (with no details on where it appeared, unlike for the other stories), while the authors' introduction seem to date it to mid 1972: "Twenty-six-and-a-half years ago, when we got married" they thought collaboration would be easy. They tried it once, it turned out not to work at all, and "So here is our first, one and only, true, authentic collaboration." ISFDB calls it "a cross-over collaboration, published here for the first time, originally sold to The Last Dangerous Visions."

Thus, the date is wrong and the collaboration is unique, rather than "rare." hth Idontcareanymore (talk) 22:33, 9 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
