I thought she, and the band, completely imaginary, having read reference to them in Art Adam's X-Men: Mojo Mayhem. Imagine my shock upon discovering her on the library shelves years later.
I've heard her sing the two songs from _The War for the Oaks_ on the pertinent Cats Laughing album. Well worth seeking. I recommend anything by Emma. Minnesotan high praise is "it doesn't suck" and NOTHING of hers sucks. Au contraire!
