Date of birth edit

@Geraldo Perez: It looks to me like her Twitter account might be usable to verify the WP:DOB – note the "im em 5/6/00" below the profile name. Thoughts?... --IJBall (contribstalk) 22:17, 1 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Just my 2c but you can always webarchive https://twitter.com/emilyalynlind so if she removes it then we have the webarchive as a backup - I'd prefer to use her tweets but if that's all we have then I guess it's better than nothing at all, Cheers, –Davey2010Talk 22:21, 1 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Done the honours if that helps, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 22:23, 1 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
I did note that when I checked the reference that was added. What does "im em" mean? I am not familiar with that term. If the date were preceded by "my birthdate is" it would be clear. What is there now isn't. Geraldo Perez (talk) 22:25, 1 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
She's saying "I'm Em[ily]" .... Can't see what else it could be lol, –Davey2010Talk 22:29, 1 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, that is likely that is what it means in some twitter speak that is not English.🤮🙂 Basically what I see there now is basically gibberish and an unexplained date. We can presume that is her birthday as the date is in the range of what is plausible, but it is still a presumption. Geraldo Perez (talk) 22:39, 1 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
So, any objection to adding it back, using the Twitter page as the source?... --IJBall (contribstalk) 22:35, 1 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I object. I want to see a clear statement, not something we have to interpret for meaning. Geraldo Perez (talk) 22:39, 1 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
No objections Your Honour - Date in my eyes is pretty obvious. –Davey2010Talk 22:43, 1 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Actually now the message has been changed to make it clear so we can use the info. Best to archive again though. Geraldo Perez (talk) 22:45, 1 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Done - Geraldo could I ask are you in contact with her ?, Only asking 'cos I'm rather surprised that was randomly changed ?, –Davey2010Talk 22:50, 1 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
I dropped a message on the talk page of the person who added it originally. Likely closely connected to the subject and likely monitored this discussion. Good to see fast resolution. Geraldo Perez (talk) 22:53, 1 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Ah right well thanks for thinking of and doing that :), Exactly nice to see something go smoothly for once :), Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 22:59, 1 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Idiskseo: If you are in any way affiliated with the subject of this article, and you want to submit a new portrait image, you need to go through WP:OTRS – in other words, you need to E-mail Wikipedia, and they can check about whether the appropriate "permissions" for use of images on Wikipedia are met. --IJBall (contribstalk) 22:52, 1 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Redux on birthdate edit

I found an interview from end of 2011 in which Emily says she is 9. going from that, she is now 16 and not 18. That twitter reference is a bit odd and I would not use it as a solid reference at all. The interview was done by Smashing Interviews Magazine in October 2011. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RoboBongoCuckooCop (talkcontribs) 09:41, 7 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

I noticed that she removed her date of birth information from her twitter account. We are using an archive of that to support the data in the article. We have at least two secondary sources in dated publications that show 2001/2002 based on stated age in those publications at time published. This conflicts with the 2000 she told us. I am tending to believe she was trolling us giving out false information that is invalidated with other sources. Motive is likely for the chuckles. At this point I'd believe the dated publications over her own words. Generally we trust reliable secondary sources over primary sources particularly those which have no real reason to be truthful. Also if we do go back to secondary sources, they give us an approximation and do not give us day and month. Geraldo Perez (talk) 15:15, 7 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
Also, as a point towards lack of veracity of her own words, her older sister would be the same age as her if we accept the 2000 birth year. Most sources say her sister is 2 years older. Geraldo Perez (talk) 16:02, 7 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
Was just about to point Robo here and they've beaten me to it!, I've not checked sources as I stupidly thought "Her own words would trump sources" .... So I think we can probably take her words as being bs and perhaps we should use the sources provided - I did try self reverting but Geraldo had since edited the page but if anyone does want to revert me I obviously have no objections. –Davey2010Talk 16:16, 7 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
I just added a discuss tag. Looks like we have agreement now. I put back the info we had before we used the twitter date. We do not have day and month sourced now either. Geraldo Perez (talk) 16:22, 7 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
I am pretty sure that the day and month were accurate going off her and her families Instagram posts. It was just the year that was in question RoboBongoCuckooCop (talk) 16:44, 7 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
If we can't trust her on the year, why trust her for anything else. Either way need a reliable source for day and month. If we have that it may resolve the year ambiguity we have now. Geraldo Perez (talk) 16:47, 7 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
well we have this instagram post by her younger sister https://www.instagram.com/p/BickAcSnFMm/?taken-by=alyviaalind and another by her mother https://www.instagram.com/p/BickhaJHAJf/?taken-by=barbiealynwoods surely that indicates a day. May 6 to be precise RoboBongoCuckooCop (talk) 09:56, 8 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
Just my 2c but I personally wouldn't trust her or her sister, Her sister could've easily posted that a day after her birthday or even a month, Personally I would prefer to use anything but their social medias but again just my 2c. –Davey2010Talk 11:21, 8 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
True, but her mother would get the date right.... wouldn't she? I'll keep looking either way. I wonder what source FamousBirthdays uses to justify their DOB. they are usually right but not always RoboBongoCuckooCop (talk) 11:54, 8 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

More proof for the 2002 birth year edit

1. Her IMDB bio says that “At the age of five she played ‘Young Linda’ in Gaspar Noe’s “Enter the Void” and the following year was the red carpet darling when the film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.” Enter the Void was released in 2010 so she was probably 7 or 8 at the time of the CFF.

2. This YouTube interview where Barbara says that she was on set with Natalie, 3, and Emily, 1. That set was One Tree Hill which started in 2003. So this proves that not only was Emily born in 2002 but also disproves that she was born in 2000 as the age difference between her and Natalie would be less than a year and not 2.

3. Magazine articles which state her age to be in line with a 2002 birthdate, not 2000
