EmdeonChange Healthcare – On November 9, 2015 Emdeon officially rebranded as Change Healthcare. See http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/emdeon-to-rebrand-as-change-healthcare-300137812.html. This being said, the rebranding came after Emdeon acquired a company with the same name, Change Healthcare, on November 19, 2014. The new parent company of Change Healthcare, Emdeon then rebranded its entire company to Change Healthcare. The existing Change Healthcare page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Change_Healthcare should be removed as the existing Emdeon page's content has been updated to include information about the original Change Healthcare company it acquired in 2014. The Emdeon page should subsequently be renamed Change Healthcare to accurately reflect the company's current branding. Chebel72390 (talk) 20:51, 7 June 2016 (UTC) --Relisting. • Comment I am not understanding. So is the current Change Healthcare (article) and Emdeon two separate companies? Or did they merge? CookieMonster755 📞 22:34, 7 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment They are not separate companies. Emdeon (article) acquired Change Healthcare (article) in 2014. Then, in 2015 Emdeon (article) changed their name to Change Healthcare. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chebel72390 (talkcontribs) 19:03, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. This nomination appears to be entirely based on the official name, which is bad enough, but no move is necessary in any case. There's also a proposal above to merge the two articles. Please read WP:merge. We need to keep both article histories. The easiest way by far to do this is... well, just to merge the articles, a fairly standard procedure. On the face of it, it should be an uncontroversial merge, whichever title is chosen for the merged article. So be bold! (But do read the instructions on merging, and if you need help, drop me a line on my talk page, or see help:help.) Andrewa (talk) 08:40, 21 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Merger proposal edit

Given the latest news of a merger between Change Healthcare and part of McKesson, I think it would be beneficial to reconsider the merger of this article and the Change Healthcare article. As I searched Wikipedia for information on the current Change Healthcare company, I landed on the older and weaker Change Healthcare page. It took some time to find the Emdeon page, which is more current and probably will end up containing the information for this news. AnthonyMastrean (talk) 14:53, 28 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Emdeon rebranded as Change Healthcare in November 2015. The current Emdeon article was updated to include Change Healthcare information, but the former Change Healthcare article was not updated. Propose editing the name of Emdeon to Change Healthcare, and removing the former Change Healthcare page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by StSchneider2 (talkcontribs) 13:43, 14 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose, on the basis that these are two separate companies with separate histories and I'd say Change Healthcare have their own notability. To merge it into Emdeon would be unbalanced. Judging by the various aquisitions Emdeon has made, the 'old' Change Healthcare must be a minor part of the overall business. And considering the rebranding is based solely on press releases we don't have much proof Emdeon is recognised under its new name yet. Sionk (talk) 21:36, 24 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose, Change Healthcare has now become the central core business of the old Emdeon company. However, the merger confusion has apparently led to paralysis by the editors so that no updates have been added since the Emdeon re-branding. After Kenmenard1983 added the "blockbuster" but very, very late news about the Mckesson deal, almost 2 years after it happened, User talk:Sionk, removed it. The only reason to rationalize this move is to attribute it to the confusion here. Anyway, it would seem the argument to merge Emdeon and Change Healthcare is like the argument to merge, say, AOL and Time-Warner articles. That, of course would be ridiculous. Both companies have there own pedigree. Emdeon may one day be re-resurrected, for example - without Change Healthcare. Please put this issue to rest, as it is confusing the Change Healthcare article header. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kenmenard1983 (talkcontribs) 13:26, 27 February 2018 (UTC) Kenmenard1983 (talk) 13:30, 27 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
Support merge: the 2007-founded Change Healthcare is hardly comparable with either Time Warner or AOL. Its relatively brief history is easily included on the Emdeon page, following which the questions of a page move can be considered. If the 2007-founded Change Healthcare, is now at the heart of the current Change Healthcare (Emdeon) then that is even more reason for it to be discussed on the same page.
