Rockdale County? edit

The article has Rockdale County (unlinked and ungrammatically) inserted among the other three. This contradicts the infobox and seems unlikely on a map, unless Ellenwood, with its center in Clayton County, extends all the way across Henry County into Rockdale. But now I see that Panola Mountain Golf Course, which is on the Rockdale side of County Line Road, has an address that says Ellenwood. However, that may only mean that they're served by the Ellenwood post office. In any case, something is wrong somewhere. 209.179.74.58 (talk) 05:54, 26 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

It started as an arbitrarily-named train station in Clayton County -- there wasn't a preexisting locality name for the train station to use, so the railroad made something up. Later on, the postal service named a post office and zip code for the community around that train station. The Ellenwood post office served a large sprawling region in Henry, DeKalb, and Rockdale. It wasn't until later that people started referring to this whole zip code as the Ellenwood community. I don't have a print source for all this -- it's oral history from my grandfather, who died in 2011. So I'm not sure Wikipedia rules would allow it to go into the article itself. But maybe someone can find corroborating evidence somewhere. -- Jim Henry (talk) 14:58, 22 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
