Contested deletion edit

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because this person is a professional footballer and has represented clubs at the top level of Brazilian professional football.

@Davidlofgren1996: Considering the article (and only your additions), this article SHOULD be deleted because it fails not only WP:FPL, but WP:GNG as well. However, this guy may pass the latter guidelines after a decent edit.
I'd recommend you to not create pages unless you are certain that you have the competence to provide the normal reader a decent and meaningful article. Both this and Rossi, to be honest, are a basic copypaste from Soccerway. Cheers, MYS77 00:48, 23 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
@MYS77: I am not Brazilian, and do not speak Portuguese, therefore finding good sources for these players is hard. I often create Wikipedia pages for players like Elias and Rossi, because a lot of people use Wikipedia to check stats of players. I don't know the personal lives of these players, and as previously stated, I cannot find great sources to enlighten me. You can have a look at my editing history to see that I have created meaningful articles in the past.

As a side note, your edit says that Juventude were promoted to Serie B? Therefore he would be eligible for a Wikipedia page, no? Cheers, User:Davidlofgren1996

@Davidlofgren1996: No. A player is notable through FPL only after he/she played at least a single match in the divisions mentioned there. Thus, Elias is not eligible. MYS77 11:41, 23 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
@MYS77: Fair enough, I thought Juventude were a higher division club. Feel free to remove the article until he makes an appearance for Chapecoense. Apologies for not putting much detail into the article. In future, I will find more details about each player before creating an article. Thanks, User:Davidlofgren1996
@Davidlofgren1996: No worries mate. I think as club was made known due to their (unfortunate) incident, the article may pass GNG: his name appears on The Sun, Mirror and Daily Mail (all of them are reliable sources), so he is notable enough. Feel free to ask for any help while creating South American (mainly Brazilian) or Spanish players, though. Cheers, MYS77 16:45, 23 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
