This gallery deserves mention in an academic article. it is a culturally significant part of the east london art scene, with metions and reviews in art magazines and papers. I have referenced some of these within the article. art review, and timeout.

Artreview, however, is a social website; it is not reliable. Does this gallery have any coverage in reliable publications? —C.Fred (talk) 04:02, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have given a reference from Time Out Magazine, in which it featured as part of a special issue exploring the art culture of E9 area london. Zcwcd49 (talk) 04:07, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have clarified that reference as being the 19-25 June issue 2008.Zcwcd49 (talk) 04:07, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

This article is not non-trivial coverage of the Elevator Gallery. To establish notability you need to show non-trivial coverage in reliable sources A new name 2008 (talk) 04:10, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
I agree that fuller coverage needs to be shown. However, I'll grant that enough is asserted about the gallery to exempt it from speedy deletion. It is still subject to the normal deletion discussion process, though. —C.Fred (talk) 04:14, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Its has shown notable artists. The Birthday party included Mark McGowan, the performance artist http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_McGowan_(performance_artist), and the coming show includes Tim Head, who has had solo shows in Whitechapel Art Gallery, the Serpentine and the ICA, and who has work in public collections, such as the V&A, and the Tate. http://www.ucl.ac.uk/slade/timhead/fullbiog.htm#solo http://www.firstthursdays.co.uk/content.php?page_id=1735 Zcwcd49 (talk) 04:26, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Still not sure why Time Out is not seen by ALL as a suitable source of reference. It is a major publication after all.--Amedeo Felix (talk) 11:55, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Well if mention in an Artists Newletter review of a show isn't important enough I'm damned if I know what it, because that is one of teh most important art publications in existence. I have also added links to Time Out articles. If this page gets deleted I would say that was most unjust.--Amedeo Felix (talk) 12:00, 5 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
