The article on Ela Longspree would appear to have some anomalies. In the book Calendar of Documents Relating to Scotland, Preserved in Her Majesty's Public Record Office, London, Vol II; AD 1272 - 1307; Ed Joseph Bain; Edinburgh 1884 there is a lengthy discussion regarding the inquisition into the inheritance of Elena la Zouche (see pages 215 and 216). In considering the results of this inquisition it is clear that Elena la Zouche had only just died ad that her heir was Alan la Zouche, named as "son of Sir Roger de la Zouche" on page 216. Hence it would seem that the Elena discussed in the article would seem to be the Ela discussed in this article. It would seem therefore that Ela died in 1296 (July seems reasonable as the inquisition was held coincident with the provision of fealty by Scottish nobles recorded in the Ragman Rolls) and not 1276. The inheritance of la Zouche went to her son Alan and not Maud, who may have inherited the Longspree title I do not know, who was still alive at the time.

Also of note is the mention of an Oliver la Zuche on page 216 regarding Wigtown. He is serving fealty in Wigtown on behalf of Elena and is clearly a relative, probably another son.
