A couple of days ago, the El Dedo De Dios article was moved to El Dedo de Diós. In Spanish, accents are used to denote which syllable to place the emphasis on when pronouncing the word, so the rule is that words with only one syllable, like "Dios", don't have an accent placed on them - it's just not needed. --kb 16:21, 16 January 2005 (UTC)

- Actually, the i is more of a demivowel in this case (the Spanish form of the word). Ventifax
The 'i' is a weak vowel in Spanish and is only given an accent when mixed with one of the strong vowels (a,e,o) when there is a hiatus (the two vowels form separate syllalbes). In the word "dios" it is a diphthong and the vowels are the same sound. Very Small Changes edit
I have changed some things which seemed to be inappropriate or inaccurate: I have removed the word "magnificent" from the phrase "one of the magnificent monuments" and replaced it with "many". Wikipedia is, after all, an encyclopaedia and magnificent, in this case, seemed more emotive than descriptive. I have replaced the first reference to Agaete as a "city", which it is not because it's very small, and replaced it with "town".
