1913 Meeting with Wilson

Can anyone speak to the quote taken from a private meeting with Woodrow Wilson in which Mandell allegedly states that "Every American will be forced to register or suffer being unable to work and earn a living. They will be our chattel, and we will hold the security interest over them forever, by operation of the law merchant under the scheme of secured transactions." ? I disagree with the characeterization of House as a "collectivist" which implies he was a socialist, communist or even a fascist of some sort. Generally this is a term used as a political epithet by adherents of Ayn Rand and others who naively believe or purport to believe in unrestricted laizze-faire capitalism. This characterization of House and by implication Wilson and other liberal capitalist politicians is facile, inaccurate and shallow. Wilson and House were intimately connected with Wall Street and big business whose interests they represented assiduously both at home and abroad.

This is your opinion, which I can refute with sources if you wish. Facile, inaccurate and shallow ... Why, because you disagree? You are mis-characterizing those that don't agree with you politically.

I don't think there's any question House was a globalist (one of the very first, arguably), and what is globalism but the very ultimate form of collectivism? I agree, however, that "collectivist" is a term that often signifies that libertarian-types dislike someone, more than anything else, and that a more precise and objective term would be more fitting. This article reads like a conspiracy theory, and has no footnotes to substantiate it. In particular, there is a "quote" towards the end, supposedly from a private conversation between House and Woodrow Wilson, that seems very suspicious on several counts. It displays language more familiar from the late twentieth century than from 1913. And if it was a private conversation, where is the source for its citation? Pretty much every time I've heard Col. House mentioned, its always in connection to the idea of his being one of the most evil and destructive men in American history. Since most Americans are unaware he ever existed, among those who do know his name, I'd say that's pretty much the overwhelming majority perspective. Consequently, its not surprising that his article had a lot of "conspiracy theory"-type info; House is probably the one American with more conspiracy theory connections than any other in history. At the very least, this article should contain a section entitled something like "House's Notoriety," or "Conspiracy Theories Related to Col. House." Unlike some people who are inclined to add controversial material, I will make sure I source it out before doing so, however. In the case of Col. House, that shouldn't be real difficult to do. I attempted to delete the WP:OR comments and someone reverted me, called it vandalism. The federal reserve, Rockefeller stuff is poorly written, ahistorical and conflates the CIA with a 1913 meeting. American Joe is rewriting without citation, the guy who reverted me is also a bit quick on the draw.
