Started the article, it's just a stub right now. Needs work on:

  • Style and influences. I just barely remember their music from when I was a teeny kid, don't know them well enough to comment
  • Comments/stats on their other singles. I know I could look but I'm just lazy
  • Current whereabouts *done July 8, 2006
  • Discography, etc tables (if necessary)
  • More/better sources --Anchoress 07:51, 8 April 2006 (UTC) **Updated --Anchoress 01:19, 9 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Scientology edit

It has been reported w/o much sourcing that their best album, Close Your Eyes was written under the influence of Scientology. Does anyone here anything "scientological" in their lyrics? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Feran (talkcontribs) 00:15, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ron Parks edit

Thats the name of a former member I happened to meet a few weeks ago. I assume he played drums, if someone wants to add him, his Myspace talks about it a little at myspace.com/whoisronparks The Big L 00:54, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Styles and Influences edit

This band is extremely important because their style was so unique and its influences were barely perceptible. Bread is of course the most famous of alleged influences but Bread's music is comparatively banal plus not as musically rich.

Social Significane of 70s 'Fey Rock' edit

the adjective fey is defined thus: 1 a: chiefly Scottish : fated to die : doomed b: marked by a foreboding of death or calamity 2 a: able to see into the future : visionary b: marked by an otherworldly air or attitude c: crazy, touched 3 a: excessively refined : precious b: quaintly unconventional : campy

Edward Bear's music has a measure of meanings #1 (Evoy is a Scots name after all) and #2. Its detractors would see it as definition #3 (which it really isn't in reality). All told, the word - and genre - works.

Meaning for Contemporary Masculinity edit

This might have been the last time in music history that a band found it culturally acceptable to express ideas with an overall cast of gentleness, sentimentality and longing.
