I had to add some stuff back in after it was edited out. 1)Put approximately back in - it is an approximate figure, not exactly 1100. 2)Joined the last two sentences back together, because one is a direct consequence of the other, and because they'd be too short on their own. You cant say this : From the school year starting 2008 Tony Evans has taken on the role of Head of Sixth Form. Tony, or ACE Man, is expected to do well as he has an outstanding rapore with the students and is not afraid to get involved. He is an experienced languages teacher ands fits the role perfectly.

Gareth Croxen has recently been appointed the role of deputy head of the sixth form after the existing teacher is leaving for maternity leave. Gareth, a much-loved pschology man will bring fresh ideas to the role along with his slightly eccentric personality.
