Originally built with Paxman Diesels - NOT Caterpillar. - rated at 6000 SHP total. The Haley was re-engined when recieved by the USCG. "There have been Difficulties with Maintenance due to foreign Manufactured" engines. Very unusual for ship of the US Navy built in another country Surveying Ships Chauvenet & Harkness were also built in the UK near same time. Wfoj3 (talk) 15:57, 20 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
