Fair use rationale for Image:Eaten Alive.jpg

Image:Eaten Alive.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. obscenity ambiguity

"The movie wasn't successfully prosecuted for obscenity." Does this mean it was prosecuted unsuccessfully, or was not prosecuted at all? The latter could also probably be said of, for example Bambi, but would not be a noteworthy attribute of the movie; the former would be interesting (but need citation).-FZ (talk) 13:56, 10 October 2009 (UTC)

Release year

I'm not aware of the official year of release. What I know is that the IMDb, despite not being a reliable source, says 1976, many so-called reliable sources say 1977 (though they may be referring to a wide release and might not take into account an earlier premiere), and more recently a source has been given to say 1976 but I'm not seeing it in the source. I don't have the answer, but am just posting this to as a reminder of the ambiguity until a definitive answer is found. YouCanDoBetter (talk) 00:04, 3 May 2022 (UTC)

@YouCanDoBetter: I agree, there are conflicting reliable sources on the release year and date, and this is causing disagreements. For example, Rotten Tomatoes lists the release year as 1976, while AFI lists a release year of 1977 (with a premier date of November 30, 1977). The article also cites October 18, 1976, as the release date, citing AFI, but I cannot find any WP:RS to support this, and it is in direct conflict with what AFI actually says. I started a discussion about this at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film#Release date and year of the film "Eaten Alive". Wikipedialuva (talk) 21:24, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
