Why does typing Ursus arctos beringianus redirect here, when that name only applies to the Kamchatka Brown Bear?Mariomassone (talk) 15:50, 6 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Siberian bears tend to be much bolder toward humans than their shyer, "more persecuted" European counterparts.

Are there any other sources on the claim they ambush from trees? It seems false. edit

The only source cited for this is a Victorian magazine from 1855, and periodicals from this time regularly published exaggerated information. The claim doesn't really line up with the typical behavior of other brown bear subspecies, as far as I'm aware. The English-language information on this subspecies is a bit sparse, but a translation of the Russian Wiki page didn't have anything about this either. I couldn't find a single credible source backing this up so I'm just going to delete that section. Additionally, one of the other citations is a dead link, so I'll replace that once I find a source that's still up Mephistoscafe (talk) 18:05, 17 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
