Christopher Wren monument edit

Has nobody got an image of the Wren monument they could upload? KJP1 (talk) 11:10, 24 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Was passing yesterday so I added File:East Knoyle Wren plaque.jpg to the article.
Also uploaded File:East Knoyle plaque + playground.jpg for context.
The monument also features in this 1920 postcard - File:1920 - East Knoyle War Memorial postcard - front.jpg. --Wire723 (talk) 16:15, 7 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
[1] - for later use. Oddly, it seems to have been on the wall of a building when this was filmed? KJP1 (talk) 20:19, 7 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
Good find (1:36 in the film). 1937 is later than the postcard. The position on the building (most likely the church or school) looks temporary as the screw-holes are exposed at the sides. --Wire723 (talk) 10:01, 8 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
The memorial is very undocumented, which is going to make an article a challenge. [2], This, which I doubt would meet RS, appears to suggest that the tablet dates from 1923, created to celebrate the two-hundredth anniversary of his death, and was originally affixed to the wall of Knoyle House? This would fit the Pathe newsreel, but not the 1920 postcard. And the bit about the wrong birthdate is odd. Is it actually referring to another tablet entirely? All very confusing. Pevsner has nothing and, as it's not listed, neither does Historic England. KJP1 (talk) 11:18, 10 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
1923 makes sense, and the date of the postcard is uncertain. --Wire723 (talk) 10:18, 11 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
