Psycrow or Psy-Crow?

Composer

Some versions credit this to Mark Miller, others credit this to Tommy Tallarico. Who composed for the first Earthworm Jim game? I know Tallarico did it for the second... -TonicBH 09:07, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

I'm also going to challenge Tallarico's claim of composing Earthworm Jim 1. The man is a living MOS:PEACOCK violation who has made many claims which can be empirically disproved. Like it or not, Tallarico is credited for the CD soundtrack on Mega-CD and PC.

This happens to be the version that was sold as the official soundtrack on CD as far back as 2006 and on vinyl as of 2017.

The real question should surely be if Tallarico is responsible for the original compositions or not, or even if it was a collaboration.

As I had previously understood it, the original compositions were closer to what we now know as the CD soundtrack that had be adapted to the soundchips of the Mega-Drive and Super Nintendo, but could later be used more directly as the basis for the Redbook Audio on the CD systems.

However, since Mark Miller himself doesn't seem to want to comment on the situation in the slightest when contacted, it seems we'll struggle to find a definitive answer. 86.15.32.36 (talk) 03:16, 19 August 2023 (UTC)

Image alignment issues

Does "Image:Earthworm Jim Nintendo.gif" look messed up for anyone else viewing this page? Left-aligned as it is, it crashes into the text and makes it look jittery. After I aligned it to the right, it looked fine on my browser, but User:Ace of Sevens left an edit summary saying it left a large blank space in the article.

To compare: [1] (right-aligned) and [2] (left-aligned).

Should we move it to a place where it might cause less problems, or just remove it altogether? --GUTTERTAHAH 21:34, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

What OS/browser/resolution are you suing? I'm on XP/Explorer/1280x960. When right aligned, the image has to start after the right-aligned infobox, as must all text that comes after it. This meant there was a large blank space to the left of the lower part of the info box. The image crashing into the text sounds more like a browser issue than a problem with the page. I'm also using XP, but I'm using Firefox and my resolution is 1024x768. Perhaps like I said before; it might be better to move it elsewhere in the article, such as how I made it look in my development page. If there's no difference in the credits, I think it's reasonable to say that it was developed for both. But if there was an additional party that handled the SNES translation, then it's debatable. Ham Pastrami 06:09, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

I have included a paragraph, with a reference, indicating that while the majority of the levels were originally programmed on the Genesis and converted to the SNES. "Andy Asteroids" and "Snot a Problem" were originally programmed on the SNES. This probably needs to be woven in to the previous paragraph somehow.

I'm not sure if this would classify the "SNES" version as a port, since the versions were developed simultaneously and there was apparently flow of features and changes both ways with the limitations of both systems preventing some from crossing over. Such as the vocal clips unique to the Genesis and the "lens flare" in the SNES version.Haruspexblue (talk) 13:38, 17 October 2021 (UTC)

Removed this sentence because of the overall poor quality of the sentence: "It has been roumerd that the first earthworm jim team will make a come back to make a new Earthworm jim Game." While it has been stated the the original Earthworm Jim team was reassembled and interested in making a new Jim game on a next-gen console - meaning that this is technically not a rumor - whether or not that game will actually happen now depends on other factors; if all that deserves mention on this page is a decision I'll leave to someone else. --Justyn7 02:59, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

MS-DOS only version

I am pretty sure that there was a PC MS-DOS version of this game, impossible to find these days i see. I remember have played it, nevertheless, I see that isn't mentioned nowhere. Somebody knows something about this matter? greetings

The standalone PC version was for Windows 95 only. You might be confusing it with EWJ2, which was for DOS. Both games were bundled in the "Whole Can o' Worms" box, which was for DOS. Ham Pastrami 06:27, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Any confirmation of the cancellation of the PSP game?

Not of full cancellation, but until further notice it is on hiatus. It may be brought back into production in the future. Or it could be "replaced" by EWJ4. Either way Atari is doing pretty badly lately, so it depends if Atari gets back up or if someone else picks up on EWJ PSP from where they left off. SuperLink9 (talk) 10:42, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

It keeps being reverted to EWJ DS again, for some reason. I think a page needs to be created detailing what is known about the game so far, the revival etc. I also think the TV Series page should be updated, and maybe mention the film on the TV Series page. Better images?
