As the viscounty courtesy title doesn't appear to exist we ought to comment on that and give an explanation if anyone knows why this title (not the barony) is used.
Earl Of Erne edit
My understanding is that the format "Earl Erne" is only correct form when the title is derived from a surname. But here the surname is Creighton or Crichton(!?). The title is derived from an earlier Barony. If "Erne" is a geographical place then it should be "Earl of Erne" -- So what is the origin of "Erne"?
As for the Viscount - that appears to have existed in its own right for a time -- that is why it now a courtesy title Jalipa (talk) 20:20, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
