SovalValtos tagged some (technical content) prose with cn in this diff; the existing prose was changed by Dennis Bratland in 2014 (this diff) to read differently, alluding similarity to the larger 750. Dennis Bratland was there a specific reason for this change? It's unclear if it was from Everitt, Falloon or neither.

For completeness (relating to this former cn) I've just checked the 860 spec in a 1975 mag which quotes 86 x 74.4 = 864cc.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 15:05, 24 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Rocknrollmancer It is most unlikely that any bevel 750s had a 74mm bore which would have meant them being remarkably under square with ~87mm stroke.. The production 750 range had 80mm bores. What actual dimensions were for racing bikes would be almost impossible to ascertain. Even the factory race setup may not have kept records and even if they did would be unlikely to reveal experimental or incriminating detail then or later. At that time national organisers were rumoured to be indulgent towards home manufacturers. Protests and subsequent measurement would not have been popular. Coffee table type books are unlikely to have any careful editorial oversight of detail being intended for entertainment rather than encylopedia quality accuracy.SovalValtos (talk) 20:05, 25 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
