Two hill forts edit

There are two hill forts at Kinver Edge. If someone doesn't get there first I will update this article when I've got some spare time. See: http://www.pastscape.org.uk/hob.aspx?hob_id=116717 --Wolvobirder (talk) 02:43, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ah! I thought the link broken but the "--" was part of your signature.

Yes sorry I've fixed that link now (as you were typing it would seem). Also there are two forts marked on the Ordnance Survey Explorer Map for Wyre Forest & Kidderminster (number 218). The one already in the article is for the one on the very southern tip of Kinver Edge at Drakelow. The other one I am suggesting adding to the article is on the far northern tip just SW of Kinver village. I suppose one could even argue that the fort at Drakelow should be in a separate Wikipedia entry under the title of "Drakelow Hillfort" because judging just purely on the OS map it looks to be beyond the southern tip of Kinver Edge but I don't have enough local knowledge to be sure. -- Wolvobirder (talk) 14:55, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
I am in a position now to add the second fort to the article if PBS isn't working on it already? What would happen if I adjusted the title to "Kinver Edge Hillforts"? I am quite new to Wikipedia and I am unsure what effect this would have. -- Wolvobirder (talk) 15:05, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
As the two Hill forts are in different counties, I think it better that there are two different articles. I suggest that this article is moved to Drakelow Hillfort, and place the site you have highlighted above is written up as Kinver Edge Hillfort with a hatlink to Kinver Edge Hillfort, Worcestershire which redirects to Drakelow Hillfort (that should take care of searches). -- PBS (talk) 15:11, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Okay thanks for the help PBS. I've read up on how to move articles so I will do this now -- Wolvobirder (talk) 15:18, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
I've moved it. We can justify the name change from this link Archaeological Investigations Project 2000 Post-Determination & Non-Planning Related Projects: West Midlands: WORCESTERSHIRE page 10 which cites Archaeological Watching Brief at Drakelow Hillfort, Wolverley and Cookley, Worcestershire (Report 893) by Miller, D & Jones, L Worcester : Worcestershire County Council Archaeological Service, 2001 -- PBS (talk) 15:28, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
You can now build an article in place of the redirect at Kinver Edge Hill Fort. I will create the redirect to Kinver Edge Hillfort, Worcestershire. -- PBS (talk) 15:28, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thanks I have now built the article. -- Wolvobirder (talk) 15:52, 30 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
