Possible rename edit

I think the page should be renamed to "Dragonheart (Dragonriders of Pern)" since the Dragonheart film has an accompanying novelization, and a page for the novelization could be made with the name "Dragonheart (novel)". --12.167.18.252 (talk) 17:01, 30 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Dragonheart (novel)Dragonheart (Dragonriders of Pern) – Current title is better suited for a page on the Dragonheart film novelization while the suggested title makes more sense as the Todd McCaffrey book is part of a series12.167.18.252 (talk) 18:48, 9 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Looking at some film novelization pages, a lot of them have "(novel)" after the title. By having the "Dragonheart (novel)" page be about the film novelization, it would follow that trend. The film page already has enough information about the book that the info can easily be moved to the new page. The new name for the Dragonriders of Pern "Dragonheart" book page could be "(Dragonriders of Pern)" or using either the author's name or the book's 2008 year of release.--69.115.254.17 (talk) 21:33, 10 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose A hatnote can fix this as it currently stands. If the novelization is notable enough for an article, then the article should be created, THEN this should be moved to a more specific disambiguation under the title of Dragonheart (McCaffrey novel).ZXCVBNM (TALK) 02:47, 11 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose per User:Zxcvbnm. A hatnote is fine. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:10, 14 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
There's currently enough information about novelization on the film page so it can be easily moved to a new page and be added to from there. If this page is given a new hatnote, then would this novel page be freed up to use as the new novelization page? Otherwise, could the novelization page have the title of Dragonheart (Pogue novel) in accordance with the Manual of Style for novels?--12.167.18.252 (talk) 13:31, 16 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
I don't think the novelisation of a film needs its own article. It's fine as part of the film article. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:56, 16 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Proposed rename/redirect edit

As decided above, this page could be renamed "Dragonheart (McCaffrey novel)" while the movie novelization gets a page titled "Dragonheart (Pogue novel)" with a hatnote distinguishing them. The additional info about the novelization was recently removed from the film page for taking up too much space, and I think there's enough info about the book to warrant its own page.ZorahErso (talk) 03:34, 26 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
