Disambiguation? edit

Perhaps this should be converted into a disambiguation page? As it seems to be about multiple different topics, yet although all relating to Iran. -- œ 04:18, 5 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

OK, now that I look at it, there's no separate articles on these topics so there's nothing to disambiguate yet! Perhaps the page as show below is the best option for now. -- œ 20:54, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Page before conversion to disambiguation edit

Dorood which originates from Middle Persian Drod, which also originates from the Avestan language, the word Dravat (Meaning: Health), is a polite and official form of hello in the Persian language, (also recognised as 'Parsi' or 'Farsi'), whilst Bedrood '(Pedrood)' is an equivanlent to see you next time or goodbye. In modern day Iran, however, Salām which is originally an Arabic word has become a more common greeting. 'Bedrood' or more correctly 'Pedrood' derives from the Middle Persian dialect of modern Persian, which combines the words Ped meaning "With" and Dorood meaning Health, which ultimately express Health Be With You.

Dorood (also Dorud) is a city in the Lorestan province in western Iran. "Do" means two and "rood" means river and the word dorood means the place where two rivers meet each other. And "Dorood" is called "Dorood" because it's located at the meeting point of two rivers. This city is famous for its beautiful mountains, lakes, rivers and waterfalls. "Gahar" is a big lake of this city and Bisheh waterfall is its biggest waterfall.

Dorood is the centre city of Dorud County. This county had an estimated population of 250000 in 2005.[1]

Dorood is also the name of a giant oil field offshore the Iranian island of Kharg.
