Don Letts and punk rock edit
The statement that Letts introduced London punk rockers to reggae is currently tagged "by whom?". Thought I would offer some info there:
I just heard former Police drummer Stewart Copeland being interviewed on SiriusXM (by Billy Idol!) and he stated that Letts was the first one on the London punk scene to start playing reggae music in clubs, when Letts was a DJ. "There wasn't any chill punk music," Copeland said, "but even punks needed to chill sometimes, so Don Letts started playing reggae dub records... they were chill but they were hostile, dark, so it worked...."
