The opening text:
Distributed programming is a programming paradigm focusing on designing distributed..systems.
reads to me like a circular definition.
Can someone clarify or do better?

I think that this article should be merged with Distributed computing. They mostly deal with the same notions. Hervegirod 09:26, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
