Merge content from Disney Channel (Albania) edit

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section.

I'm opening this merging request due to a previous edit war involving the existence of the article Disney Channel (Albania). There were no sources that proved the channel to actually exist, but some useless sources when visiting the article for the first time, like an outdated 2015 channel schedule, the announcing of the premiere of a brand new season of Violetta, the official site of Digitalb (an Albanian satellite provider that distributes this feed), etc. It had to be redirected to the article of the Pan-European variant of the channel, so I proceeded. Instead, when it got redirected, Whoamiwilli reverted my edits, not acknowledging the fact that the sources provided were not proving the actual existence of the channel. I reverted his edits again, this time he warned me that I could be blocked for edit warring because I "was infringing Wikipedia's policies", despite the fact I'm more experienced on editing than him due to my time on here (considering he signed in a year and a half later than I did) and he only used the WP:WAR against me as an argument just for not redirecting the article again. Reverted his edits, he reverted mine without any explanation at all, and this is when Onel5969 reverts Whoamiwilli edits and redirects the article again, and once again the user in question reverts his edits, even warning a rollbacker user Onel to back off. the article ends up with a speedy-delete nomination, which you can see on here (which I highly recommend to check that out), later closing as "no consensus reached" after a 3-week debate. Ngrica, the user who created the article in the first place, adds information about the feed after the request for deletion was applied in the article.

Involved users where @Whoamiwilli, Ngrica, and IEstiv03:, which I think they're a single user, considering the fact that this last account (IEstiv03) was created just a day after the proposal for the article's deletion and had similar patterns shared by the other two users, falling into WP:SPA and WP:MTPPT.

Reasons why Disney Channel (Albania) must be merged into this article:

  • It is most probable to be dedicated subfeed from Disney Channel (Europe, Middle East and Africa) managed by both Digitalb and The Walt Disney Company Europe, in which Digitalb provides Albanian audio and subtitle tracks since the schedule of this hypothetical feed is the same as the EMEA one, just with a partial territorial disconnection for local ads, also provided by Digitalb.
  • That being said, this "feed" doesn't show any significant autonomy from the main, Pan-European channel, as claimed by Whoamiwilli. He later said, quote: These are enough evidences to prove that the channel exists, I mean I am looking at it right now in my TV which has Digitalb.
  • There are no consistent references proving the existence of this Albanian feed, other than satellite references provided by Ngrica. Reasons why these are not valid are because a) sites of these kind are not so reliable. A channel can be introduced in any of these web pages by inventing a frequency and latitude, b) both of those sites proves my point of an hypothetical, minimal autonomy of this signal from Disney Channel EMEA by Digitalb, by providing aditional Albanian audio/subtitle tracks, hence a different frequency than the main channel and c) KingofTVSat listed the channel as airing only a single, English-language audio track (second link provided).
  • Video samples shown in the deletion proposal (1, 2, 3) to prove the feed's existence fall into WP:VIDEOREF for copyright infringement; thus, cannot be accepted as valid references.
  • Right after the redirect gets reverted on this edition from March 5, the "official" YouTube account for the Albanian channel was created on the same day. The user Whoamiwilli shows original research himself by saying, quoting: I have asked them why did they close their previous YT channel and they explained it. I still have the message on Facebook, let me know if you want to see it. Also let's not forget about the first sample which is an actual (raw) footage of this channel in Albanian.
  • The deletion proposal was close down as "no consensus reached" due to a presumption of sockpuppetry by a single user using three different accounts, sabotaging a voting.

I hope that this clarifies things. --Bankster (talk) 09:24, 6 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

I've said this before and I'm repeating once again, your claims are your personal theories; you don't have evidence that links this version of the channel to the one you're claiming of. The fact that you're including "probably" or "i think" in your claims constantly, shows how sure you are of what you're saying. And even an "inexperienced" wikipedia user as myself knows that that is not enough to redirect an article or to revert edits by other users. Talk pages are made for a reason don't you think, instead of giving an unsourced explanation in the limited edit summary every time you have reverted, you should've used the talk page. That's why you even got blocked very recently by an admin. You kept reverting even after the warnings that you got. - IEstiv03 (talk) 20:47, 6 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
There are no "theories", use proper vocabulary. In fact, you're not proving the "Albanian Disney Channel" is an independent station from the EMEA feed, while in the same references you have provided (this, as an example) Digitalb lists the Albanian "feed" as a spin-off, not providing Albanian audio/subtitles traks (taking into account KingofTVSAT is not a reliable source to some extent. You would know that if you have actually read this merging request). Moreover, this claim of, quoting, inexperienced wikipedia user as myself knows that that is not enough to[...] is invalid giving the fact you signed in fairly recently with a single purpose (well, implying that you're not a sockpuppet, that being said). Inexperienced users, in most of cases (if not in every case) don't know Wikipedias policies at first, and in the deletion proposal of this article you used a shortcut of a Wikipedia policy as an argument. Talk pages were made to discuss proper issues of an article, and it is being done right the way it was intended. Also, I don't have to remind you your reverts on this article, in which two users were against an unsourced claim you did, and keep reverting. (People can check this out) Aside from that, you didn't reply to my accusations against you of sockpuppetry. --Bankster (talk) 22:00, 6 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
How is KingOfSat not a reliable source, tell me one example when this website was incorrect. Me, as well as the other two users have been discussing about this topic privately via chat so I already know about the rules of Wikipedia. That's why I wrote it in quotation marks; you have mentioned the date when my account was created (meaning you're much more experienced I'm not and stuff) but I see that you didn't get it. The main reason why I created it was for support. I read about all these and checked all the links, that's when I wanted to intervene and created the account. Your accusation of sockpuppetry is absurd. Also, unsourced? I added the source of that dub being aired on Disney Channel. We discussed it with the other user on the talk page (as it should be), and then the edit was kept. But then after a while, you reverted it once again saying it's unofficial, your reasons didn't make any sense and that's why you got blocked. - IEstiv03 (talk) 23:15, 6 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
@IEstiv03: You just admitted yourself that your account is a single-purpose one, valid for a permanent block on Wikipedia according to your "story" (implying also, if it ends up true, because it is notorious you're committing sockpupetry). Apart from the example that I provided, do you want another one proving KingofTVSAT of not being accurate? There is no Disney Channel airing in Croatian dubbed, as claimed by this section (that identifies audio tracks "correctly"). Another example? Look at the channel in Thor 5's satellite. The channel never had a Slovak audio/subtitle track on its entire life since its inception as Fox Kids. Slovakia receives the Czech audio feed because those languages are mutually intelligible. Another issue with this website not being so reliable (I guess you haven't read it correctly. I said not so reliable, instead of not reliable at all) is that, whenever you change the language from English to another one (let's say, Serbo-Croatian, Greek or Italian), results suddently changes into a more-favourable ones for the audience that speaks the language. That why there still are scepticism about this site. And no, don't try to mix the deletion proposal for Disney Channel (Albania) (the result didn't end up to "keep" the article. Again, it ended up to no consensus reached) with the Let it Go (Disney Song) you're trying to link, which is utterly ridiculous. I got a block for war editing on that article because of the not-proven "official" status the Albanian dub of the song had, which you were also edit warring before I even edited the article (which I urge you to discuss that on its respective talk page). Get straight, and correctly compile your information before arguing, please. Thank you. --Bankster (talk) 14:08, 7 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
It's not a single-purpose only, that (Disney Channel) was the main reason of its creation but doesn't mean that this topic is the only thing that I am now or am going to edit in the future. And try to read my comments more carefully, I didn't say that Disney Channel Albania was kept, I said that my edit of the Albanian version of the song was kept after discussing in the other user's talk page. In the previous comment you said that it was unsourced and I said that I added the source to that edit (Albanian dub of Frozen). You have already seen both, dubbed and subbed content airing on Disney Channel in Albanian. I don't know in what universe does that not prove that Disney Channel in Albanian exists. Also, your comments are rude and offensive. Apparently the word "theory" is improper to use in a vocabulary, what? If you know the definition of this word, it perfectly fits your situation. And I saw in the comment below that you called the other user childish. Without forgetting your false accusations. This my friend is known as bullying. I'm done here, you really are impossible to deal with. - IEstiv03 (talk) 14:29, 7 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
Also reminding to you that I was involved in the Disney Channel Albania page only by 29 March. I have been involved with Let It Go article long before that. Bye. - IEstiv03 (talk) 14:50, 7 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
@IEstiv03: "Bullying". The fact you're actually trying to use that as an argument, it is very laughable and seriously ridiculous. One thing is being rude, and another thing is stalking and causing actual harm online ("ofensive"), which I'm not doing in any way possible. Stop victimising yourself. You're hiding on doing that instead of giving actual arguments. Again, get your facts straight. In response to your claim that I have seen dubbed and subbed content airing on Disney Channel in Albanian, may I have to remind you these sources provided by yourself (that are listed on the original post I made above) fall into WP:VIDEOLINK for copyright infringement? This is the third time I'm telling you these sources are not valid. My accusations are not false just because I'm claiming that you're a sockpuppet, that's why these are called accusations in the first place. Citing your quote: "Apparently the word "theory" is improper to use in a vocabulary, what? If you know the definition of this word, it perfectly fits your situation". It doesn't. These "theories" you're calling for are in fact stands, and you would know it if you compare both definitions on a dictionary. I called user Whoamiwilli that his response was childish because, believe it or not, it was. In my opinion, his response to this thread had no difference other than one of a 5-years-old kid. And again, for the second time, if you're going to complain about the Albanian TV dub of Let it Go (Disney song), do that on its respective talk page, that would be much appreciated, because you're mixing the edit war over there (including my eventual block as a result of that) with the merging of Disney Channel (Albania) to Disney Channel EMEA, which has nothing to do with the "Let it Go" song at all. It seems that you don't have any other arguments that aren't insisting on these invalid sources and involving edits on other articles than this. --Bankster (talk) 15:00, 7 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
Wow Bankster. You have been using my "blocked" experience (which was not even related to this topic) to tell me that I was in no position to say anything, but now that YOU got BLOCKED, you're ignoring this fact. Especially because you got blocked about this actual topic... Karma! Whoamiwilli (talk) 11:37, 7 April 2017 (CET)
@Whoamiwilli: Yup, got blocked as well, but if you actually do your own research well, you will find out I didn't got it because of the Disney Channel Albania issue, but from Let it Go (Disney song)'s Albanian dub (Discuss it in its proper talk page). Instead of going childish enough with a response very similar of a toddler, spend your time trying to find a source that proves the existence of an actual Albanian feed of Disney Channel instead of getting deffensive. Thank you very much. --Bankster (talk) 14:14, 7 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

About it's location in Singapore edit

Since then, when the channel was launched in 1997, the channel was headquartered in Singapore (which also operated an exclsuive Disney Channel in Malaysia).

Then it was moved to United Kingdom in 2004, leaving Disney Channel Asia operating in Singapore, along with many localized versions with same schedule (focus on local time), such as Disney Channel Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei and South Korea, even the Philippines! AZEEM HADZRIE (Talk) 03:06, 21 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Basically, this move occured because Disney noticed this channel was in Europe, and was moved to the United Kingdom in 2004.
Here's the source on why they moved the location, you know the drill [1]. AZEEM HADZRIE (Talk) 08:33, 29 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Plus, they moved to the UK in December 2004. AZEEM HADZRIE (Talk) 08:38, 29 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
