Coca Cola

How come Coca Cola has the rights on these characters? And why haven0t they exploit them?

Because it's not worth the time or money anymore. I think I still have one of the VHS from when I was 8, I'm going to see if it's still working to fill in a few holes. I think it may have been the only episode where Allo 'devolved', and I have a vauge memory of him being captured by Rex. Morgrim 15:34, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

That would be the first episode Dinosaur Valley and that is correct. It is the only time Allo dinovolved in the whole series. He wasn't actualy captured by Rex but was acting as if he was to get in close to the other regular dinosaurs who the Tyranos were trying to catpure. Bronto Thunder also dinovolved in this episode but he would use the ability again in another episode. For all the big deal they made about this ability in the opening episode it was rarely used in the series.

But to answer the question here the reason Coke isn't exploiting them is that it's a pretty dead show now. It's been on cable for a very long time in reruns and there was only one season worth of episodes. A one season series that was on cable with many reruns of it to be found isn't what I could call high demand. Theres not much to exploit beside putting the episodes on a DVD set or something. Besides that there is nothing really to come out of it and not worth the investment. There was 3 or so VHS tapes released a long time ago (which we should make mention of by the way on the article page.. ) with the first 6 or so episodes but besides that there has been no useage of the show in any way. The toyline proposed for it was canceled and the prototypes for those toys have shown up on eBay at various times. But if you are holding out for Coke to put a big investment into this show in the hopes of profiting don't hold your breath. The show had a following and has it's fans but it isn't like when He-Man wasn't coming out on DVD and fans demanded it and it finally happend. Those episodes weren't on TV for a very long time in the US and it was a big deal when they finally did show up on DVD. A Dinosaucers DVD set is possible only if another company buys the rights to do so if I had to guess. Otherwise I'll bet Coca Cola doesn't even put a seconds thought into this show at any time. With all the changing of hands, I'm uncertain whether or not Coke still owns the rights to this cartoon. It certainly wouldn't make sense to keep it while offloading all of its other entertainment holdings to Sony, as it says in the Trivia section. Video Titles?

Ill make the proper changes. Oops :) And I can't put better dates then 1994 for the American VHS's as the dates are dispusted. Amazon shows random dates for release while other sites show the same 1994 date as the release of all 4 tapes. Plesio's Italian Accent

I don't know many Italians, but I don't think I would call Plesio's accent Italian. More like just a raspy version of Rex, which makes sense since the same voice actor did both. I'm removing this statement. GreyWyvern 02:55, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Critique of the Credits

I've just been reviewing some of the ending credits on episodes I have, and they don't match with the ones listed. Obviously they will have changed over the course of the series. Something really should be done about this; my vote is to cut most of the credit listings out and then just list the main staffers, such as producers, music people and directors. The rest of these people just worked at DiC, not specifically on Dinosaucers. ... Of course, I'm open to any other suggestions. GreyWyvern 00:31, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

Personally I think thats a great idea. I think all those people that really had little to do with the show and wouldn't be of importance anyway should be removed. Just keep major people involved. We don't need a whole list of people who worked in the DiC building or something.. yeah I'm all for any cuts you can do to all those credits on the bottom. Explicit Content Link

I've been to LavaDomeFive and yesh, there is some explicit content there. What I'm wondering is if there is some kind of WP standard for identifying such links when they also happen to be relevant. I underlined the word WARNING and put the sentence in ( ) . I don't know exactly what the rule on listing things as not family safe is here but if someone felt that strongly about it at least we can not make it stand out so much. I don't know the exact rules on it either as I've only be here since this year myself. But for now I at least made it look like an attachment to the link sentence rather then just one huge phrase. This is a cartoon series and all so we have to assume it won't be only adults coming here to look into Dinosaucers. I suppose it should be stated that it may not all be PG if the link is clicked so it may not be. I don't know what the standard for such things is. Hrms... Take a look here Wikipedia:External links and then browse around on lavadomefive. When measured against the policies, I'm starting to think the site is not really relevant enough for inclusion. There is a neat page about the webmaster and his Dinosaucers DVD project (which contains some original air-date/network information), a forum with a Dinosaucers sub-forum, but not much else that is Dinosaucers-specific. Some of the risqué art is Dinosaucers-related, but does it really add anything to this article?  ;)

Of course, linking right to the DVD project would still require the WARNING, since you could browse to the rest of the site. I scanned the Talk page of the WP article above and there is a small discussion about "Adult Content" on one of the archive pages. I don't think links to explicit (but relevant) content have been a big enough issue with other articles to warrant its own policy.

Reptilon was Counter-Earth?

The few times I remember of them flying from Earth to Reptilon, they just showed a trip leaving from Earth, go over the sun, and they already arrive. While it could be that the trip was just omitted for time, or only symbolic, I always had the impression that Reptilon was a planet on the exact opposite side of the sun as Earth. Since it was hidden by the sun, people didn't know of its existence.

Yesh, this is true. I'm sure the Fine Feathered Friend episode has some reference to this, and I am absolutely certain it was mentioned explicitly in another episode, perhaps the Museum of Natural Humans. In Fine Feathered Friend, Allo has to make a quick trip back to Reptilon to fetch the Dinosorceress, and the trip is said to take 36 hours. GreyWyvern 13:40, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Selected Credits

Many of the people listed in the credits of each episode just worked at DiC and did not really work explicitly on Dinosaucers. Add to this the fact that in the "deeper" credits, names change throughout the series. I removed the credits you added, but left your Producer/Executive Producer division. If you check back in the revision history, it is obvious that the retrojunk article was lifted from the Wikipedia text sometime after June 30, 2006. The original verbose WP description was added July 11, 2005 which looked quite a bit different: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Dinosaucers&diff=18581012&oldid=18579728 The RJ article contains all the WP revisions to the text up to my June 30th, 2006 edit where I corrected the spelling of "accidentally". Copy and pasted? You kidding me? I have been with this article for some time and its all original to wikipedia. I think you should tell retrojunk not to copy from here.. this was the original work.. not the other way around. I appreciate you trying to keep things here legit and all Stratadrake, but this was not copied and pasted from anywhere. A lot of people worked hard on this with original and researched stuff that wasn't taken from another web site. Definitely should not be templated as copied. Which reminds me of the other issue, this article is long on low-value lists and short on more valuable, encyclopedic matters -- tagging as laundry cleanup. First thing to go looks like the theme song section because, unlike trivia, I doubt this can be integrated anywhere else (and it's not really a theme "song" to begin with, just opening narration with background music). --Stratadrake 02:10, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

I agree with removing the theme song, but IMHO, I don't think there are any unnecessary lists in this article. The episode list and credits lists are important information, not "laundry lists" of "minutiae" as the Laundromat page describes. If anything else needs to be cleaned up, I think it's the "trivia" section which contains much information that could just be incorporated into the main description and character descriptions. Is this animation really created by Madhouse? I couldn't find about this product in Madhouse official homepage. Where is the source that this animation created by Madhouse? Also, I couldn't find the source that this animation has to be broadcast in Japan. Was this animation really broadcast in Japan? In this article, Japanese name is 恐竜戦士ダイノサセーズ, but, there is no source I found. (Therefore, in the Japanese version of this article, currently proposed　rename.)
