I propose this page be removed as it is redundant with existing wikiepedia pages. edit

I propose this article (written by Duhak96) be removed because the majority of its content is either incorrect, or redundant with the Digital art, Computer Art, Computer, digital data and Digital image articles.

It seems that "digital creativity" as described in this article, is any application of digital computing technology and/or the creation of digital content, and is therefore extremely broad. This article could be called "electronic creativity", "computer creativity" or "media creativity" without significantly changing the content. The article depends on a simplistic understanding of the term "creativity". If "digital" means symbolic, and "creativity" means improving in any way, then the phrase "digital creativity" could be applied to nearly any use or creation of media.

Issues with the article edit

  • Numerous grammatical errors (e.g. etc. ending a sentence)
  • The article claims that the Chinese language is considered "digital" because its roots are pictorial. Under this conception, all symbolic representations are "digital". Many of the examples of "digital creativity" in the article refer to digital as binary.
  • Photography and Television are considered precedents of "digital creativity".
  • The article claims that when photography was first introduced "it was vastly used for small video clips".
  • The article claims that "digital media and creativity has had a huge impact on the computer". If all symbolic media defined as "digital" then this may be true, but if we consider digital as binary, then the opposite is true.
  • The article shows an underlying implicit assumption that newer is always better in the use of the term "enhancement". For example, the "enhanced and animated" 2014 google search is an enhancement of the 2004 "simple" google search because of the progression of "digital creativity".
  • The article claims that additional functions in youtube are all "forms of digital creativity".
  • The "Basics of Digital Media" section is a simple summary of contemporary computing technology.

Update edit

I ended up adding a redirect to "Digital art" rather than requesting removal. Body of the article is still there in hidden text.
