Response to request for attention by an expert in medicine edit

Not sure why this needs an expert in medicine. This entry refers to work of a nonprofit initiative. It refers to the factual work of the program. External links are appropriate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.153.192.4 (talk) 16:54, 29 July 2015‎

Contested deletion Suggestion edit

Keep & improve: Yes this is a poorly referenced page but only the final section could be perceived as promotional (although it is referenced). However, the subject matter is highly notable, they conducted one of the world's largest drug treatment programmes in Bihar India, deworming 17mn children. I think it would be better to reduce the page length and improve with a few non-primary references and build from there rather than delete.

Some non-primary references:

  • [1] - Showing this initiative ranked 6th globally in terms of charity effectiveness
  • [2] - Huffington Post interview by Emma Watson noting the initiative
  • [3] A BMJ article critiquing their approach
  • [4] - journal from Biomed Central detailing support to Kenyan government national deworming.
  • [5] - PLOS journal detailing support to deworm 17mn children in Bihar, India.

I would argue an article with these good quality references added to the primary sources already there, removing some of the 'Givewell' overkill would leave a healthy little article.

There is now a much larger article for the related organization Evidence Action. Content here may be redundant. WeyerStudentOfAgrippa (talk) 14:16, 10 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Strongly agree. The Deworm the World Initiative is now only a program of Evidence Action, so a standalone page is WP:REDUNDANT. RegMonkey (talk) 18:22, 16 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
