Workplan for editing this page edit

Article chosen: Developmental impact of child neglect in early childhood Why this one? Include WP rating scale? How fit with your interests. Other details as desired This article was Start-class in the WP quality scale. We are interested in improving this article given the broader public health impact of the topic.

Initial Analysis of the article Article’s structure should be expanded to include impacts of different types of neglect on various developmental phases of childhood. Additionally there is limited information in each subsection. For example, in the physical health and development section there is only a focus on neonatal health without much detail on older children, adolescents, and adults. Similarly, the emotional dysregulation, psychiatric development, and cognitive/academic development could use additional depth.

Overall organization, what changes Addition of neurophysiology, resiliency factors. Organization by age group and subsections for each topic (physical, social, psychiatric)

What will you add? Information by age group (neonates/early childhood, children, adolescents, adults) Types of neglect Disparities in reporting

At this point the article has a clear layout and is easy to read. References are added where appropriate and language used is neutral in tone. There is a repeat paragraph in the psychological and social development sections of the article. This article may also benefit from increased hyperlinking to other Wikipedia pages.
