Animal Base reference is based on 1774 literature edit

^ a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z aa ab ac ad ae af ag ah "Species summary for Deroceras reticulatum". AnimalBase, last modified 29 August 2010, accessed 10 December 2010.

This reference is derived from material written in 1774. Many of the article's salient points are erroneous, most notably the geographical range and habitat information. This organism is widespread across North America but is contradicted by the text. This organism is widespread in temperate forests of North America, but this is explicitly contradicted in the text. Almost the whole article was copied verbatim from this one outdated source. I believe the pertinent sections be rewritten without reference to this obsolete information. What a nonsense, species was described in 1774, list of recent references is also given on AB page. Slug is not native to America, which is noticed on AB. So there is no any contradiction. --Igor Balashov (talk) 19:32, 6 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I went overboard. but "Deroceras reticulatum is almost exclusively restricted to cultivated areas, usually in open habitats, in meadows, near roadsides, in ruins, gardens and parks, not inside forests.[4]" This is not true. I find this species is ubiquitous in forests and widespread across North America, and by assumption other parts of the world. Nickrz (talk) 18:57, 7 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Alright, yes, this part is wrong, at least in Eastern Europe it also lives in forests frequently--Igor Balashov (talk) 19:51, 7 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hello, I added the second reference supporting disputed section exactly as it is already was in the article. There exist exactly same looking species in woods, and maybe that was the issue. Otherwise provide references. --Snek01 (talk) 22:35, 22 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
