This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because. What does it need to not be deleted??. I searched for something in wikipedia, couldn't find it, and decided to make the article. I am still working on it.— 336 (talk) 05:10, 14 September 2011 (UTC)

License

I realize this maaay not be the right place to ask, but what kind of license is Death Grips' material released under? Suggestion

Singles probably need to be replaced with Full Moon, Guillotine and a couple of others that were released for only a short while on thirdworlds. Works to simply state the tracks they released to pay and any tracks they initially put to download but then withdrew. Flatlander No Longer a Member of the Group

Morin has been occupied with other projects in iceland, and he's also been handling the legal end of the "No Love Deep Web" fallout, from what I can find on the internet. Break Up

Thanks to :2.38.53.152 for correcting my grammatical error in that minor revision, being changing "is" to "were," when the correct word choice should have been "was." I assume this choice is correct unless anyone disagrees? — Haruomi Hosono (talk) 08:20, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

I suggest some minor revisions be made due to the recent news of the bands disbandment. I have changed the "is" from "Death Grips is an experimental hip hop[1][2][3] group from Sacramento, California, formed in 2010.", to "were," i.e: "Death Grips were an experimental hip hop[1][2][3] group from Sacramento, California, formed in 2010." A user has also made a short addition to the 2013-2014 section to include the news of the break up as well as a sentence in the introductory paragraph. I made a separate section for the disbandment as this is quite big news and shouldn't be grouped in with their music releases for 2013 and 2014, it deserves its own separate section and rightfully so. ShawntheGod (talk) 21:52, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

Hardcore Punk

A lot of white /mu/ kids who don't listen to much rap are just really concerned with connecting them to punk music so it's still 'cool'. The biggest fan of them that I know even gets offended when people call them rap and argues that they should solely be placed under the hardcore punk label and shouldn't be referred to in any way as rap because "the punk influence outweighs the rap influence". I don't think hardcore should be a listed genre here either but there are always going to be people ready to pounce on changing it back, unfortunately.158.123.187.100 (talk) 15:35, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

Tyler the creator and Eric Andre being fans

The "in popular culture" section claims that Tyler the creator and Eric Andre are fans of the band, but the only reference is a youtube video starring both of them and featuring a Death Grips song in the background. Nothing in the video seems to imply that they've even heard of Death Grips. Am I missing something?

Genre cut-down

Per Template:Infobox_musical_artist#genre, I propose cutting down infobox genres to a maximum of four general tags. I would propose either:

• Experimental hip hop
• electropunk
• industrial hip hop
• rap rock

Or:

• Experimental
• hip hop
• punk rock
• industrial

@Mashaunix: I think the first four you listed would be more appropriate. I don't think mainly sources would call them a "punk rock" band. Bowling is life (talk) 16:16, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

Agreed, while they do have some punk rock elements in the music, you would still have to remember that the band is mainly a hip hop-style outfit. According to archived screencaps, a hidden message reading "9/21/22" was live on the band's website on September 3-4, only visible when highlighted with ctrl+a, but it was taken down just hours ago. Could be a release date. Death Grips Disbanding?

The article has been rewritten to imply that Death Grips is no longer together. Can someone please clarify why the article implies this? I don’t see any source that says Death Grips is no longer together. Homeostasis39 (talk) 01:08, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
