Article name? edit

Does W have to be capitalized in with? If it doesn't, can I move it to Day Out with Thomas? TobytheTramEngine 19:55, 24 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Checking the official website, it is clear that the 'logo' uses lower-case for both 'out' and 'with', so it would seem appropriate to move the article accordingly. (You will, however, find websites, including HIT themselves, where all four words are capitalised, as this is more natural English for a proper name.)
Make sure you modify the article content to match, and any links from other articles will need to be sorted out too. Must do the job properly, you know...

Operation edit

Thomas the tank engine also operates on the Grand Canyon Railway. I know that he operates on the grand canyon railway. Added to Section: United States. --76.31.167.164 (talk) 03:49, 28 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • True, however, there are DOWT events at many railroads across the US, with the specific dates and locations changing from year to year. So its probably best not to have them listed here in the Wiki but rather refer readers to the HIT web page. n2xjk (talk) 16:11, 28 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

New HIT T's&C's for 2008 events edit

The requested 'fact' does, indeed, appear to be the case. HIT have tightened their regulations for the 2008 season, and appear to require CRB checks for all staff, including volunteers.

This forum thread, from November 2007, will shed a lot of light on the background to the situation, and some of the reasoning behind various heritage railways (including, significantly, NYMR and Bluebell railways) abandoning their Thomas events for 2008 (at least).

We DO have a suitable reference, from BBC News (29th Jan) (here) which may be added in due course. This also covers the associated issue of requiring Fat Controller characters to be 'trained'. (Ooh, sorry, that was a dreadful pun! Utterly unintentional...no, really!)

There may well be more refs available on-line, but I spent most of my research time reading that forum thread!

PS - see the most recent posts of the forum thread (end Jan 2008) for several more links to news stories. This is obviously a hot topic at present - time for a news bulletin at TSW methinks... EdJogg (talk) 02:25, 1 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Mike at A Day Out with Thomas edit

I just heard Thomas is coming to Eastleigh Lakeside Railway so why not add Mike there? — Preceding unsigned comment added by CoxDavidcox111 (talkcontribs) 16:21, 13 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
