Talk:Davor Štefanek

Ethnicity edit

Okay, so Štefanek's father is Croatian and his mother is Hungarian? So what? Evidently, Crovata thinks the Croatian Večernji list is a reliable source with which to reference this individual's ethnicity. Okay, cool. On the other hand, the Serbian Politika and Glas javnosti, Crovata claims , aren't reliable when used on a different article, simply for the fact that they are Serbian. The user also believes the Croatian Index.hr isn't reliable when used on the same article (because it doesn't match his POV). Pickin' and choosin'. What a hypocrite. 23 editor (talk) 19:27, 16 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

23 editor, I know very well why you wrote such a comment, and you and I know that false accusation is against the rule of Wikipedia and can therefore be reported. Your comparison with the other case is invalid, both for the removal of the sourced information, and your accusation. If his father is of Croatian, while mother of Hungarian origin, and as Ghjghj shown in the Serbian interview that the Croatian interview had wrong intention with the title, but Štefanek's answer about his parents cannot be denied, what's the problem? The case of the sources on Branimir Štulić is not "pickin and choosin" when in all three sources the claims are not well known as they are stated to be, they are not Štulić's own words from the interview (yet interviewer words about alleged Štulić answer), while one claims Štulić's father is by origin from Nin near Zadar, yet the second claims he was from Niš (?) in Dalmatian Zagora. In the future refrain from such baseless personal attacks.--Crovata (talk) 21:02, 16 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
Štefanek himself said he is Serbian. That's his answer to the whole situation and at least that is how he feels, so what's the big deal? Of course, his ancestors might have had an other ethnicity (and by the way, Štefanek is by no means Croatian but Czech), but with time people assimilate to a certain nation. That's natural. And we rather believe his words than some smartasses on the net.--87.184.138.221 (talk) 14:30, 18 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
His feelings have nothing to do with his parents' ethnicity. If Nikola Tesla is a Serb because his parents are Serbs (supposedly) then Davor is half Croat, half Hungarian. Regardless of his feelings. 141.138.54.39 (talk) 21:44, 25 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
His father may be a Croat, but he's still a Croat of Czech origin (Stefanek). And if the kid says he feels like a Serb, it's the same like someone saying "I'm of that origin, but I am this and that". So if you want to play the ethnical game, play it correctly.--87.184.149.212 (talk) 19:01, 5 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
I couldn't care less what he is. That's not the point. The point is one user insists reliable sources are unreliable simply because the assertions they support don't match their POV. 23 editor (talk) 16:05, 18 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
23 editor, you're not the focus of the discussion neither your personal opinion about someone and something has any value for Wikipedia. You're again twisting the "point", and ignoring the fact those sources lacked reliablity for the exceptional claims - because of your POV. Do you need a warning or reminder on editing of Wikipedia?--Crovata (talk) 16:23, 18 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
First off, don't threaten me. Second, my claim that you deliberately exclude reliably sourced information simply because you don't like it is not a personal opinion but a demonstrable fact, based on your behavior at Branimir Štulić, where you edit-warred with a host of IPs and sock-puppets pushing the opposite agenda. I couldn't care less about the ethnicity of any of these individuals. I do become concerned when reliable sources are inconsistently deemed unreliable or vice versa for the sake of pushing your own appropriative claims, especially in articles where WP:BLP applies. 23 editor (talk) 22:04, 18 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
First off, you're threatening other editor and Wikipedia when you're, secondly, ignoring the fact those sources are unreliable for the claims they make, and thus it is not involved pushing of "personal opinion" yet WP:NPOV which you obviously don't understand, and when it's obvious as day that you started the discussion to solely bash other editor, and now you're openly making excuses. As for "I couldn't care less about the ethnicity of any of these individuals", Wikipedia care even less about personal opinion of an editor, it's useless.--Crovata (talk) 18:54, 24 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
You're semi-literate chauvinist babbling doesn't remove from the fact that you're making excuses for excluding reliably sourced content based on your own Croatian nationalist world view. Pathetic. 23 editor (talk) 00:59, 25 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Crovata, 23 editor is pov pushing and making personal attacks the same as here. He doesn't care about sources. In Djokovic's discussion there is a source of an interview Djokovic gave to Slobodna Dalmacija saying:"My mother is Croat, father Montenegrin". He tried to delete that source, them he personally attacked the person who posted it. Finally he voted NO saying:"his parents are both Serbian (one born in N. Kosovo and the other in Belgrade).", based on no sources at all, against Novak's interview. Funny for an user with "This user believes in using Reliable Sources." stated on his user page. 141.138.54.39 (talk) 21:00, 25 August 2016 (UTC) - This is not true. Djokovic never said that, his father was perfectly clear in more then one statemant that they are Serbs by ethnicity ,this commentary is nothing more then provocationReply

There was never a source other then the ones that are clear that Djokovic is a Serbian

I've reviewed the source. Vecernji List made an interview with Davor where he had said : "My father Damir is a Croat and he has Croatian citizenship, mother is born Hungarian". He had himself confirmed that he gave that interview. Can someone post sources and quotes that oppose this. If this isn't settled by consensus I will open a rfc and ask every editor that has participated in Novak Djokovic rfc that is presently opened and virtually the same, to participate in this one. 141.138.54.39 (talk) 21:36, 25 August 2016 (UTC)- Also Davor never gave interview like that ,actually he was quite angry that Croats were trying to take his medal as their own, eventhough regadless to ethnicity (czech-hungarian) his nationality is Serbian, again provocation with false usage of the sourcesReply

Asdisis, Searcher11 (whatever you wish to be called): please stop stalking me and wasting hours of your own time engaging in rampant sock-puppetry. There's a world outside Wikipedia, you know? 23 editor (talk) 17:56, 26 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
Tesla was not born in Croatia. Tesla was born in Military Frontier, a totally separated province of Croatia-Slavonia. Further, Croatia-Slavonia was ruled by Hungary, while Military Frontier was ruled by Austria. Tesla left Austro-Hungary without ever even living in Croatia-Slavonia. So Asdisis stop the Tesla nonsense. Tesla is not Croatian. FkpCascais (talk) 14:43, 28 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
