Talk:Daimler Majestic Major

Comparison with Jaguar Mark X edit

There are frequent comparisons in the article between the Majestic Major and the Jaguar Mark X. A reason for the comparison is insinuated rather than clearly stated; Jaguar, the parent company, introduced the Mark X one month after the Majestic Major and both cars were similarly equipped. If the intention is to show that Jaguar was competing against its new subsidiary then this should be clearly stated and cited.

There are two specific things about the article that need to be cleared up:

  1. Is the passage in the "Introduction" section stating that the Majestic Major was faster than the Mark X up to 80 mph necessary when another passage in the "Performance" section gives data showing this to be true up to 100 mph?
  2. The aforemantioned acceleration data for the Majestic Major is cited as coming from an article in The Times issue 55682. While I do not doubt that the acceleration data given for the Majestic Major is from this source, can someone with access to the Times archive please check whether the Mark X data is from the same source? If it is not, could someone check whether the Mark X data is from the article in The Times issue 55210 that was cited as the source of the previous paragraph?
