Reviewer notes edit

I'll review this one. I'm not a Game of Thrones expert but know enough to follow the article. I shall try to have it done today...--Harper J. Cole (talk) 14:11, 24 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

I've completed my review - not too many issues. I'll await your response.--Harper J. Cole (talk) 17:03, 24 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Looks good - I've given the article GA status.--Harper J. Cole (talk) 10:39, 25 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Lead section edit

The New York Times cites her as one of the author's finest creations.
While it's expected that a lead section had fewer citations, I think you should give the citation here, having named the NYT specifically.

  • I moved the ref with that quote to the introduction. -- LuK3 (Talk) 22:18, 24 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Character description edit

She serves as the third-person narrator
Daenerys can't be described as the narrator, as she isn't the one directly telling the story (if it was first-person storytelling then she would be). I'd describe her as the POV character, as your source does.

  • Changed it to "She serves as the third-person point-of-view character of 31 chapters of A Game of Thrones..." -- LuK3 (Talk) 22:19, 24 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Background edit

Maybe link to Robert Baratheon's page when you mention Robert's Rebellion? There's no explanation of what it is currently.

Appearance and Personality edit

Worth mentioning that her eyes aren't purple in the TV show (they're green I think)?

  • I added a note regarding her eye color in both the novels and television show. According to the source they didn't specify her eye color. -- LuK3 (Talk) 22:33, 24 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

A Clash of Kings edit

...who will experience the "three fires must you light", the "three mounts must you ride", and the "three treasons will you know"...
This doesn't work grammatically (if it was "three fires you must light" etc then it would be okay).
Possible rewording: ...she is told prophecies about her destiny as the "child of three" and advised that "three fires must you light", "three mounts must you ride", and "three treasons will you know"...

  • I changed the sentence to your rewording. -- LuK3 (Talk) 23:28, 24 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

A Storm of Swords edit

As Daenerys marches on Meereen, she learns one of her companions is Barristan Selmy, a knight of Robert the Usurper's Kingsguard, while Jorah previously informed on her.
A little confusing as it stands. Maybe reword to make it clear that it is Selmy who tells her of Jorah's role as an informer?

  • I agree it was a little confusing. I changed it to As Daenerys marches on Meereen, she learns one of her companions is Barristan Selmy, a knight of Robert the Usurper's Kingsguard. Selmy informed Daenerys that Jorah was previously an informer. -- LuK3 (Talk) 23:36, 24 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

A Dance With Dragons edit

...Daenerys struggles to maintain order in the city in the face of growing unrest as well as the chaos she left behind in the other cities she conquered...
Would recommend a comma after "unrest".

It looks like something's wrong with the link at the end of this section.

  • It looks like the |url= had the archive URL from the Wayback Machine instead of the original URL. I fixed it. -- LuK3 (Talk) 23:31, 24 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Season 1 edit

The link "khaleesi" redirects to this same article, and "khalasar" is a dead link.

  • I changed it to "nomadic tribe". I think that correctly represents what a "khalasar" is according to the novels. -- LuK3 (Talk) 23:40, 24 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Season 3 edit

"Sellsword company" is a dead link.

Season 7 edit

She sends the Unsullied to take Casterly Rock and Yara Greyjoy's fleet with ships from Dorne to blockade King's Landing.
I found this a bit confusing at first reading, as it wasn't clear that she was giving two separate orders.
Possible rewording: She sends the Unsullied to take Casterly Rock, and orders Yara Greyjoy's fleet, with ships from Dorne, to blockade King's Landing.

Also, "King's Landing" needs to be linked, as "Dragonstone" is.

  • I changed the sentence to She sends the Unsullied to take Casterly Rock and sends Yara Greyjoy's ship fleet from Dorne to blockade King's Landing. I also added the wikilink for King's Landing. -- LuK3 (Talk) 23:45, 24 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

General edit

In the seventh season premiere episode "Dragonstone", Daniel D'Addario of Time said Daenerys and Tyrion Lannister's meeting "seem to elicit the most interest from the show itself"
It says in the previous paragraph that they met in season five.

  • I don't see any indication from that sentence that implies "Dragonstone" was their first meeting. I specified in the previous paragraph that the season 5 meeting was their first. -- LuK3 (Talk) 23:49, 24 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
