Seperate article for the Rustom II? edit

Now that the Rustom II is close to being real (This is being posted post defexpo14) maybe it deserves it's own article? Clubbing it with a technology demonstrator like Rustom I fails to demonstrate the massive difference in level of accomplishment. Rushil92 (talk) 17:40, 10 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Proposed merge with TAPAS-BH-201 edit

This is Rustom 2 a variant of Rustom UAV. The article has quite a few issues, does not have enough sourced information on its own and should be merged with parent article. Can be forked off if enough content is available at a later stage. Adamgerber80 (talk) 19:44, 25 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • Merge There is substantial overlap between the subject of the two articles. It looks like the new article was created mainly because of a name change. Rustom-H, Rustom-II, Tapas 201 and TAPAS-BH-201 all refer to the same UAV and should be under the same article. Gazoth (talk) 20:50, 25 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Merge The same UAV is just renamed. Please update to reduce further confusion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 3Andy64e (talkcontribs) 09:06, 31 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Don't merge Tapas/Rustom 2 drone is notable on its own. I think it should have its own article. Thorev (talk) 10:10, 8 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Combat capability edit

Hey Gazoth, I copy-edited the information on Rustom 2 and added some information on it's capabilities and latest roles. The official PIB release says little ([1]). Most newspapers which state that it has a recon and surveillance role ([2], [3]) but there is one which states that is also a weapon capability ([4]). IMO this is an aberration and a possible error/lapse on their part and I have thus omitted it. Do you have any opinions on this? Thanks. Adamgerber80 (talk) 19:48, 25 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Adamgerber80: Both FlightGlobal and Jane's only mention surveillance capability. However, an Aviation Week and Space Technology report dated 25 October 2010 mentions that an armed variant is expected. The report doesn't go into much detail about the armed variant "Rustom-C" apart from what you can see in the preview. There is also a quote from a DRDO official, which is the same as the first quote in TAPAS-BH-201 article. So, it looks there there might be a future variant that will be combat capable, but the version that is currently flying is surveillance only. Gazoth (talk) 20:23, 25 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
