D type upstate edit

@TheVintageResurrector: where are you getting the source that a part of 6119 in particular is saved? Mtattrain (talk) 01:59, 3 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Mtattrain: hello! According to a Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1576908292628997/permalink/2885333698453110) and (https://www.facebook.com/groups/TransportPhotoVideo/permalink/2502002936602332/), these are mentioning car 6119B to be exact. The original editor who inserted this claims to gather this information about a subway car in upstate NY from his message on the Arnine page (check it over there), from "the publication "New York Subways" by Gene Sansone, the New York Division Bulletin put out by the Electric Railaroader's Association." HOWEVER, since Facebook is not a 100% reliable source, I was just literally thinking about putting the "need additional information" or "better source needed." Please let me know what you think about this! Thanks! --TheVintageResurrector (talk) 02:08, 3 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

@TheVintageResurrector: Facebook can be quite misleading at times (it must be why trainheads get very uptight about YouTube videos being used as sources, so imagine something more volatile), so perhaps a "Citation needed" template could be put there (maybe removing the car number too). @Mtattrain: Got cha! I already know about YouTube, but I am now keeping this in mind for Facebook and other unreliable sources as well. Since I already inserted a "Citation needed" template, I will also go ahead remove the car number to make sure that everything in this page is correct without any questionings that readers will have. Hope this helps!--TheVintageResurrector (talk) 04:45, 3 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
