Isnt these very commonly called inverters or frequency converters or simply drives, and massively used for motor control in industrial applications, also 1-phase and 2-phase models are avail, like the those in Omrons V1000 series?

A cycloconverter is a particular kind of frequency converter. Most variable-frequency drives use a rectifier followed by an inverter. Cycloconverters can only produce output frequencies lower than the input frequency. Wrong Diagram

Agreed. The incoming phases from the isolation transformers show no connection to the first set of bridge SCR's. This is obviously wrong since each rectifier set handles the positive and negative half of the incoming AC waveform. No connection means the output could never swing in the opposite direction effectively giving you DC. Thaddeusw (talk) 19:58, 14 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
There are some diagrams in the reference ACS 6000c. Probably one of them could be adapted into a replacement of the existing diagram. Does someone have time & skills to do this? But copyright may be a complication. Oaklandguy (talk) 22:19, 28 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
