Curtis or Curtis SSK

Is it called Curtis or Curtis SSK?

It's Curtis SSK, and I am led to believe the SSK stands for Shoot Stab Kill, not Sound Scan Killer Soldier313 12:50, 9 April 2007 (UTC)Soldier313

It USE to be Curtis SSK. and the SSK stood for 3 different things. SoundScan Killa, Shoot Stab Kill (which is used in the song Do It Myself with Young Buck), and Southside (Jamaica, Queens) King

  • On 50 Cents MySpace site he calls the album "CURTIS S.S.K." in the sentence next to his profile pic but in the image at the top of the site he calls it "CURTIS". Which one is it?--Peterm1991 21:03, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Well it started out to be Curtis S.S.K. and appeared on the image for his single Straight to the Bank, but it has since been changed to just plainly Curtis --Breakout 06:20, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

It's just CURTIS

The name was not changed from Before I Self Destruct to Curtis they are 2 different albums. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.93.72.160 (talkcontribs)

Actually, the title was Before I Self Destruct, but then he decided to keep that title for his last studio album on Interscope Records, and change this album's name to Curtis. His last studio album will be called Before I Self Destruct, and he will also have a greatest hits album, which will be his last album on Interscope Records, since his contract runs out because he has a 5-album contract. Although, there are rumours that he might not retire. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 13:54, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

"Officer Down" - with Kardinal Offishall"

i thought a track with the same title by 50 & kardinall leaked awhile abck —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Papi34 (talkcontribs) 23:12, 9 May 2007 (UTC).

Deletion

Why do people keep deleting information in the article? There was a cd cover that was most likely the real one and two confirmed tracks with sources now gone, why?

Unless the album cover is confirmed, there's no reason to keep it. The same goes for possible track listings as well as information in general.--NPswimdude500 (Talk|Contribs) 00:39, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Kanye West track

  • thats fake, kanye west and 50 have beef
  • is the kanye track (confirmed) a kanye production or a kanye feature? - NJ Rock
Nothing in this article is confirmed--NPswimdude500 22:38, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Does anyone think the comments made by 50 cent on an MTV interview about Kanye West be included in the article?--Volumesoxxs
  • No, just add it in the 50 Cent article. --- Efil4tselaer 18:22, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Can you do it? sorry but I suck at wikipedia Volumesoxxs
Ummm... well, I don't really know what his comments were, can you give me a link to some website that has the comments that he said in that interview? After I read it then I will add it to the article. --- Efil4tselaer 02:23, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Heres a link [1] and I also think his name should be removed from the producers of the album unless somebody can give a source. Volumesoxxs

For anyone who wishes to contribute to the article, please be professional. There is no news of any confirmed tracks so until then, ********** is rumors and expectations.

In case anyone was wondering why I deleted the discussion page and replaced it with links, it's because it was turning into a forum war between 50 cent fans and 50 cent haters. That is not what wikipedia is about. Please carry on with additions to the album in a professional manner. Wuthai 02:30, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Image / Album Cover

  • Are you sure this is tyhe real deal, I won't delete it because I don't delete/medle with things. It kinda does look like the real deal though. Where'd you find it?--NJ Rock 15:27, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
The image should be deleted, its obviously fake, that 50 cent picture is from the "Get Rich or Die Tryin" movie media images for desktop images. LightSpeed 02:02, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
What happened to the artwork, was it fake?
  • Someone keeps posting a dubious album cover that seems to be photoshopped from a XXL article here. Whoever made the cover actually did a pretty good job but this isn't the place for posting it, unless it can be confirmed. Spellcast 23:09, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
  • the new artwork that doesnt hav his face on it, is it possible that its fake, seeing as the tracklist from itunes is fake?--NJ Rock 01:44, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

You can find the real deal here now: click 87.169.125.27 23:28, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Somebody has now posted an incorrect album cover of 'Curtis' dipicting 50 Cent as a woman but placing his head on a woman's body. Also I think the original cover was the one with the crest on as it is used on his official MySpace page. Thanks. - Beattz

Tracklist

  • He's not even done the album... how can there already be a tracklisting? I'm going to take it off in two hours if no one says otherwise. He's keeping his album from being bootlegged... making fake tracklists is stupid... no source, the guests aren't evcen right. --NJ Rock 23:30, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Much better--NJ Rock 23:34, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
If you go to www.gunitworld.com you will see that there is a new song and video called 'Funeral Music - may just be a new single id suggest addiing it to the article
That song is not going to be on the cd, 50 said so.
Great! I don't like that song, its not good - NJ Rock
  • Please stop adding a track listing without a source. Thank you. --- Efil4tselaer 01:03, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Yeah that Welcome to New York City track surely can't be right? Juelz Santana? You realise he leads Dipset with Cam'ron, the guy 50 has his latest beef with? Santana gotta be crazy to be on that track, listing gotta be wrong there need somes sorta source.
  • The real listings can be found on iTunes
  • No, its suprisingly fake, i know its weird, but 50 confirmed a bunch of songs today that wernt on the itunes tracklist--NJ Rock 01:41, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Album Name/ Tracks

The album name has been confirmed to be just Curtis. The Jay-Z, Young Buck,Mary J Blige, and Swizz Beatz track names from what Ive read have not been confirmed. Pujols4mvp 01:50, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Where are damn sources for the tracks people keep puting up. Only like half of the songs are trully confirmed --Breakout 18:17, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Who put out these tracks?

Juelz Santana?

He's beefin with Dipset everybody knows that. And in those cited links dont say he's there. Hurricaneshady 10:08, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

Could you explain what you mean? I'm afraid I couldn't make any of it out (except "everybody knows that", which is clearly false...). --Mel Etitis (Talk) 17:37, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

Lol :). Ok what I meant is Juelz Santana's group Dipset(Lead by Camron) or The Diplomats is currently feuding with G-unit(Rather 50 Cent.SO how is it that he's featured on Curtis? And What I mean is those cited links next to those list of artists who are going to be feautured,Juelz Santana is not found.Hurricaneshady 05:20, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

I couldn't find either Juelz Santana or Dipset in the article; is there another pseudonym I should be looking for? --Mel Etitis (Talk) 09:38, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Dipset is a short-form for The Diplomats and Juelz Santana with Camron and Jim Jones and others are there...Hurricaneshady 03:22, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

dude...there beefin wtih each other. its just a known fact throughout the hip hop community --Breakout 03:04, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

juelz or none of the dipset crew are in the curtis album and he hasnt got beef with all of dipset ONLY CAM'RON if you lisetened to the funurel music you would understand ahh well.

Doesn't matter, Interscope's track listing doesn't include any Dipset member anyway. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 15:53, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Jay-Z...

also 50 took some shots at Jay in the new song, so clearly that song Welcome to New York, if it even exhists, has a very rare chance of featuring Jay-Z OR Juelz (who is explained why not above) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Breakout (talkcontribs) 06:22, 29 April 2007 (UTC).

nvm, its been confirmed that he is on the album --Breakout 00:29, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Don't 50 and NaS have beef? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 58.108.88.23 (talk) 12:01, 10 May 2007 (UTC).

indeed they do --Breakout 01:33, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

nas has actually stated that he has "a lot of love" for 50 so im not sure if it cooled down or just ended

Delete This Article In Its Current Condition

I want to move for the deletion of this article. Not because I have any beef against 50 Cent or Interscope or rap or anything like that. I just believe that this entire article needs to be redone from scratch. It has to be one of the poorest articles I have ever read on WP. Yes I know that the album isn't out yet and information and all that is developing, but looking at some of the other future album articles (like The Nacirema Dream or Cuban Linx II), I realize that this article is just horrible. I vote that wikipedia destroys and rebuilds. Wuthai 02:30, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

It may be suprising comin from a die hard 50 fan, but he's right, it needs to be redone. Someone needs to take the time in finding information on the album. I "just" read a Rolling Stone mag that had a little in it (it's in the article already). If not redone, then smeone needs to take a long time fixing this. If anyone could make this at least neater, it would help a lot. - NJ Rock
I don't think there's really a need to start again from scratch. I've tried to wikify this a little bit, at least cleaned up a couple of references and added {{Fact}} to some of the more dubious claims. With a bit more work though, and as the album's release date approaches, this article should turn out quite OK. Also, just for future reference, I have moved this article to the bottom of the page, because newer entries always go to the bottom of a talk page.--Phil500 (Talk / Contribs) 08:02, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
Somebody created a second article (The Tsunami) on this album a few days ago. I added the merge request to both articles, but I'd also like to point out that the newer article has cited sources. Might want to check those out.--NPswimdude500 22:38, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Citation

I'm new to the whole citation thing so I'm holding the Rolling Stone issue with this confirmation from the article of Before I Self Destruct which says, "A recent edition of Rolling Stone Magazine announced that Jay-Z and Ludacris will be featured on the album, and Timbaland will produce at least two tracks," but I dont know how to cite it. Here's wt it says in the magazine and maybe someone can help me cite/source this, "Timbaland produced two tracks for the disc, and Ludacris and Jay-Z have reportedly laid down two guest spots.". Thanks, - NJ Rock

No worries, the citation thing isn't that difficult once you've done it a few times. Try having a look at WP:Cite if you're not sure how to do it. Since I've already added the <references /> tag to this article, all you really need to do is add <ref> at the end of that part of the article, type in the detail you want included in the footnote, and put the </ref> tag at the end, and a footnote will be generated automatically. All you really need to include between the ref tags is the author of the article, the title, the publication (ie. Rolling Stone), the page number, and the issue date/number. Information on how to format this can be found at WP:Cite. Hope that helps!--Phil500 (Talk / Contribs) 02:36, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, umm, so Steve Knopper, Superstars Rule 2007, Rolling Stone, p. 16, 1019/Feb. 8th, 2007
It's uber-easy if you just use citation templates: Wikipedia:Citation templates--NPswimdude500 22:38, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Reformation

Ive took the time to sort this page out. I would appreciate it if only confirmed facts was put on this page. Also try not to change the format of the page. Thanx 14:57 4 February 2007

I'm not sure why the references section was deleted, but please be aware that such references are required to substantiate information on Wikipedia - please see WP:RS and WP:Cite. The policy against excessive external linking is not intended to apply to such situations - without these links in the references section, most of the information on this page would need to be removed or tagged with {{fact}}.--Phil500 (Talk / Contribs) 00:10, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Date

How could he come out march 20th when that's when Buck comes out the date he's coming out seems fake to me Cashman20

?, 50's comin out in May/June - NJ Rock
I know that's why i was saying the date is not right cause it's saying march 20th - Cashman20
O, Ill fix it - NJ Rock

Clean-up (February 2007)

I hope no one minds but I cleaned up the talk page a bit. It was kind of hard to follow things--NPswimdude500 22:38, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Can you clean up the first paragraph a bit? It doesn't flow. I don't understand if he is releasing two albums or one or just renaming it or whatever. Not to mention all the "possible" names SSK could stand for. We should wait for a vertified title or not use on at all. Ayumi4u 08:03, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
I changed it a bit, is it better now? --- Efil4tselaer 13:51, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Funeral Music

I don't mean to be rude but... STOP FUCKING PUTTING FUNERAL MUSIC ON THE ALBUM, ITS NOT GOING TO BE ON IT, IT ON G-UNIT RADIO 24! 65.10.114.122 21:42, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Well, it was rude, and vulgar. Consequently, I put a strike through the F-bomb.--NPswimdude500 22:01, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
You're only insulting people's intelligence if you try to strike that out, I mean come on, people can tell what it says, just leave it like that, doesn't make it any less offensive. --- Efil4tselaer 22:45, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Name of the album might be changed

http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/news/id.5029/title.hhdx-news-bits-lil-jon-sets-record-ron-artest-50-cent-album-news

i dont think we should change name until we get the ACTUAL name for the LP

nvm... name it Untitled/Unnamed 50 Cent Project/Album

50 said that it's going to be called 'Curtis' lol

We now have the Name of the LP its called "STRAIGHT TO THE BANK" source is gunitworld.com i don't know how 2 add a source, so if sb could do that it would be appreceated. (Mistah James 10:28, 3 April 2007 (UTC))

That isn't an official site; it seems to be a fan site. I'm redirecting this page to Untitled 50 Cent Album for the meantime. Over the last few weeks, there's been 3 name changes; Before I Self Destruct, then Untitled 50 Cent, and now Curtis. So I moved the page to "Untitled 50 Cent" for now until the name can be properly verified. No information is better than possibly misleading information. Spellcast 10:45, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

aight. the untitled 50 Cent sounds sensible (Mistah James 11:31, 3 April 2007 (UTC))

According to an audio link from Lajbi: http://www.zshare.net/audio/04-2-07-50centchangesalbum-worldstarhiphop-com-mp3.html, the title is now "Curtis". Spellcast 12:56, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Remove the last paragraph

the last paragraph is false, no one releases instrumentals for no reason. its some no-name wanna be producer from myspace who has a 9-5 job getting paid 15k a year who thinks he is a musician spamming his shitty beats. LightSpeed1 21:38, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Removed it. Efil4tselaer 22:38, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

remove anything that says S.S.K

that has nothing to do with this album, its called curtis, he has said the name of this album multiple times in interviews that it is Curtis, not curtis s.s.k LightSpeed1 03:23, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

dont erase the part where it explains what SSK stands for, because i already explained it was a former name of the album --Breakout 00:21, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Hands up High

Why does it say Jay-Z & Nas on the track length? Shouldn't it be in the Featured Guest box?

Album name - "Curtis" or "CURTIS"

Is the album called "CURTIS" or "Curtis" because on the iTunes US store its called "CURTIS".--Peterm1991 15:20, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

The name is cee, you, are, tee, eye, ess. Whether those letters are capitalised or not isn't part of the name, but a typographical matter. It might, for example, be in all-caps on the front of the album cover but not on the back, on a Web page but not in printed matyerial, etc. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 17:27, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Pharrell/Neptunes

I dont think that Pharell will be on the album, it was not even stated...

it was, he said that he had pharrell produce a song on a tim westwood interview

Missing Tracks

This cant be the real tracklisting..where are the tracks produced by timberland featuring justin timberlake called AYO Technology and also akon confirmed he has worked with 50cent and recoreded a song for the curtis album calledset it off.

It has been recorded, but just because it is done with big names, dosnt mean it will be on the final track list. 50 either didnt think it was right or good enough to be on the final track list or he may save it for his "before i self destruct" album. An artist creates around 20-100 records but then must cut it down to the best tracks and ones that fit into the alvums context. And AYO technology may have been one of the tracks cut. Plus the track listing is provided by iTunes & they are never wrong because they have copies before hand. Ramos2907 14:56, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

lol itunes is the biggest peice of shit ive ever seen. they NEVER have tracklistings right or sell them for a great price. so dont go off saying that thats the definite tracklisting. if anyone remembers they missed a track on Young Bucks album Buck the World

saying they NEVER have the right track listings is pretty non-idealistic, and who the hell buys from itunes? they always have the right track listing thats how i always search for leakages, they have been right from around 90+ albums that have soon been leaked. Ans the young buck album, they got it completly right too, what they missed was a "BONUS" track which was funeral music. Ramos2907 16:17, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

It has been confirmed by 50 cent that the tracklisting from itunes was not real and that ayo technolgy was on the album. This was confirmed on May 18

50 said that AYO technology wasnt on the album yesterday

Smile

This can't be a track, smile was a single of gunit album

It can be a track, just because it may possess the same title it dosnt mean it is the same song. " Same Title, Diffrent Content" Ramos2907 14:53, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Current Tracklisting

The current tracklisting is correct. the previous tracklisting was inaccruate and confirmed by 50cent

i think the itunes one looks real, when i look at the one right now it looks muddled up watching staright to the bank & amusement park together, the subject matter is too diverse and the album will have no effect on the lisitner, also i remember when jay z said that his track list on itunes was innacurtate yet when the album was released it was the same thing, i think it is the same here.

yeah true, i dont think this this is the official order of the tracks, but i do think the tracks on the current tracklist are more accurate then hte previous one, the previous tracklisting didnt even have come and go or ayo technology or the song with akon

Cover

someone has changed the album cover with a weird cover which is pic of a woman looking like 50 cent's face... ??? wtf! Football 7 16:09, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Edit: Is this album set to be released in September???? NO PLEASE, i have been waiting for it in serveral month's and is it going to be released 4 month later? Wasn't it 19 june, the exact date? Football 7 16:09, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Actually, it was June 26. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 13:50, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Pipe Show + Follow My Lead

Why does it say eminem is supposed to be on the song 'pipe show' its 'peep show'.(On 25 April Albumvote reported that Eminem will feature on the song "Pipe Show".[10]) you have it right on the tracklisting. and i read before on wiki that follow my lead was supposed to be released on 28 may, im guessing that because of the album release date being moved to sept 4 this has changed because follow my lead isnt out yet. btw people i have snippets of five curtis tracks: i'll still kill ft akon, peep show ft eminem, ayo technology ft justin timberlake, all of me ft mary j blige and follow my lead ft robin thicke. THEY ARE ONLY SNIPPETS, ALL BETWEEN 4 TO 16 SECONDS EACH.

LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED ANY OF THE SNIPPETS

I HAVE A VIDEO OF 50 CENT CONFIRMING MORE TRACKS THAN YOU HAVE LISTED AS TRACKS COMFIRMED BY 50 CENT ON THIS PAGE.

PLEASE CAN THE PERSON EDITING THIS PAGE TALK TO ME, I CAN HELP YOU GET MORE CORRECT INFORMATION ABOUT CURTIS.

What the hell, someone deleted the page

Someone cleared it completely, but I brought it back using someone else's edit, if there are nessecary changes can someone handle it? Jayblivion 21:13, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Yeah it is just vandalism, it happens a lot. I'll try to revert it from now on since I added this article to my watchlist. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 22:05, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Young Jeezy plus 3 more tracks?

I heard that jeezy will be on the album but he is not on the track list for the album also that 3 more tracks would be added.

The track listing has been confirmed by Interscope Records. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 14:58, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

50 Cent and Interscope confusion

OK, there has obviously been some lack of communication between 50 Cent and Interscope. I have a video of 50 Cent himself confirming that the track labelled 'Ayo Technology' ft Justin Timberlake will be on Curtis. Also this track has been labelled as the most anticipated song on the album by most previewers. Now Interscope have the tracklist confirmed without this song? Something is obviously wrong...

A Khan 11:16, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Maybe he decided not to put it on this album, Interscope is the most recent source we have. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 15:20, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

ok im sry to say im w/ A Khan.... he confirmed the itunes tracklist to be false... now what do we have, the same tracklist, if interscope contradicts 50 cent, the higher would be 50 cuz he knows more about HIS project than interscope, i think interscope took this from itunes, anyway, not only ayo technology, but touch the sky (ft yayo) was confirmed by him, and even to add more, a snippet was released, we cant just pull a maybe here, we have to go with credibility for the time being, i wont do anything but im hopin someone will - NJ Rock

To be honest, I really could not care less about what the track listing is, I'm just doing my job, reverting vandalism, making sure it is formatted correctly, removing un-cited statements, etc. Whether or not it is false, is irrelevant to me, until you can come up with a more recent source, then it will stay as it is now. However, I am not against reverting it to a previous version with "Confirmed tracks" and "Possible tracks", as long as it is formatted correctly, and it has sources. I heard some stuff about the iTunes track listing being fake, I never took a look at it really, so give me a link to the iTunes track listing, or if someone else other than NJ Rock (just to be sure, not saying I do not trust you) can confirm that this is the same track listing as the iTunes one, then I will revert the article to the previous version before the current track listing was incorporated into the article. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 23:19, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

I have added the most recent tracklisting whihc has been confirmed by many sources including 50 cent himslef who also stated that the interscope tracklisting was just copied from itunes. Just like what NJ ROCK said "the higher would be 50 cuz he knows more about HIS project than interscope" so this is the most recent tracklisting and there is sources to back it up. If anyone knows how ot create a tble for it, it would look better. Trimy67

Special thanks to Egeiz for reverting even after I started to format the "new track listing". The sources that Trimy67 gave were, a blog, a link to some "MySpot" from SOHH.com (which had nothing to do with Curtis), and a link to a page that does not want to open (you know, the whole "Page can't be displayed" thing). Furthermore, your sources did not have 50 Cent confirm them themselves, once again, even though this track listing might not be correct, it is all we have. Also, just because "Ayo Technology" is not on this album, it does not mean that any other track listing that does not include it is fake, he could have decided not to use it anymore (even if he confirmed it), use it on another album (Before I Self Destruct), or maybe it will end up on Timberlake's next album, who knows, but please don't assume that just because the Timberlake song is not listed here (or on any other track listing for that matter), then that must mean the track listing is fake. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 01:02, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Appreciate the message and I understand what you are saying. Even though "AYO Technology" was leaked with various other snippets does not mean it is going to be on the album and then again it could be. But for now the only VALID source we have is Interscope Records and I don't think they would be incorrect. The track listing issued by Interscope is the newest and definitely the most reputable. I don't understand why people persist to provide fake track listings as it only gets reverted and is a complete waste of time. Anyways, appreciate the message again and appreciate you trying to help out. Keep up the good work and stay in touch!

i understand fully, and always have, just was tryin to help to tell the truth, i can wait til confirmation by 50 - NJ Rock

If what you are saying is the truth, then give a reputable source, right now, Interscope is the most recent, and reputable source we have, and we will see if you can add the track listings, keep in mind that blog websites are not appropriate, and also keep in mind that a leaked snippet does not guarantee the song is on the album. The moment 50 Cent gives a more updated track listing, it will be incorporated into the article. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 02:04, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi, at the moment there seems to be a little bit of confusion regarding the tracklisting. Well for starters it is june, the album is to be released in september, so NO tracklistings are going to be correct at the moment. If any one has bothered to look at interscope, the album art is incorrect so by saying the tracklisting is correct just because it is interscope then the album art posted on this website needs to be removed and posted back to the original blue. Also in may, 50 Cent confirmed after he pushed back the album that the released snippets ARE going to be included on the album. So far it looks like everyone is trying ot be right but infact everyone is just going of fake material posted by bloggers. This morning there was another tracklisting posted from another site, in all do respect that tracklisting looeked more accurate than the interscope tracklisting. 50 cent is the only person who knows what tracks are going to be on the album when it drops in september. So in saying that, the talbe should be removed and the page should be split up into confirmed tracks and possible tracks. I am requesting permission to do that now. Once the album is released everyone will know what hte tracklisting is and we will all sit back and laugh. Peace Trimy67

Don't do anything yet. First we have to check with everyone else, so, should we revert back to previous non-Interscope track listing with "Confirmed" and "Possible" track listings, or should we leave it like this? It is really up to you guys. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 02:23, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Why remove the table when that post from Interscope was made on May 26th? That is the most recent confirmation from anyone. If it is not correct just wait for the correct track listing and leave the one alone for now or I have a better idea. I'll just remove everything completely (concerning track listing) and don't put anything but the confirmed singles. Also NJ Rock, please format right if you are going to update the page. And if you cannot contact someone who has done it right in the past. Everyone appreciates your contributions but they need to be contributed accurately or they don't serve right. Keep it up, one love.
--egeiz (Talk) June 14, 2007
Right, the singles are the only ones that have been 100% confirmed. We should put a message at the beginning of the track listing asking users not to add anything unless they have a source (although they will have sources for some of them, as 50 Cent confirmed them, I saw the video A Khan is talking about). --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 02:30, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Who keeps posting the tracklisitng from interscope. We should leave it as confirmed tracks and teeling users not to post anything unless they have accurate sourcesTrimy67

I am posting it, you did not even give sources, you did not format correctly, and you changed in the middle of a discussion. You do not do that. If we have to revert, I know which version to use. Let me handle it. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 02:35, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

I am formatting the list 50 Cent gave because he is the most reputable source since it's his album EVEN THOUGH Interscope has a confirmed track list. I also put a singles table with the two released singles until the other ones are completely confirmed.
Note: I am leaving off "Fully Loaded Clip" unless someone can show me a video where he confirms it on the album as the video I saw was from 106 & Park and he confirmed the tracks listed.
--egeiz (Talk) June 14, 2007

You people really need to get a life, arguing over a tracklisting haha makes me laugh. For starers neither of you are 50 cent so stop trying to think you know everything about him. secondly every tracklisting is FAKEEE its june people, 50 cent is reworking his album for september, and if you get of the internet you might see that itunes isnt selling his songs anymore becuase none of them might make the cut. and seriously Efil4tselaer your a blogger like everyone else, your not the boss of this page. Also im taking trimy's side for this, songs on the tracklisting of interscope are only half correct. most of them tracks are tracks that were released on the advance album or tracks from other g-unit albums, and for the record officer down was released last year, smile was on the g-unit album, hands up high is hands up from loydd banks album. serioulsy people get your facts right!!

I never said I am the boss of this page, but if I don't make sure no one vandalizes or adds uncited material, someone else will. That someone might not even take the time to listen to what you have to say, and will just keep reverting, also, as I said before, I could not care less about the track listing, I just make sure no one adds uncited material or vandalizes. That is it. The reason that Egeiz and I wanted to keep the Interscope track listing is because they were the most recent one. Also, I never said I know everything about 50 Cent, but I do know that uncited material is not allowed in Wikipedia articles, that I am making sure that doesn't go here. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 20:43, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

puttin these in to help - NJ Rock

Agree partially with the guy above whomever he is. 50 Cent confirms every song listed on this 106 & Park episode besides "Fully Loaded Clip", along with "Straight to the Bank" and "Amusement Park" which are obviously confirmed since they are both singles. They are getting radio play and have been released for download as ringtones, iTunes etc... So until he confirms otherwise leave it alone. If the album is being re-worked and those tracks cut we will know eventually so leave it alone for now.
--egeiz (Talk) June 14, 2007 (9:28 PM EST)

YEAHHH go the guy with no name, you tell them straight. no one is going to have the real tracklisting yet its only june, im luaghing straight to the enter key with this one HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

... You do realize that this is just Wikipedia, right? No reason to get so excited kid. The guy that did not sign his name didn't really say anything I did not know. Also, please don't use stuff like "Laughing straight to enter the key with this one". --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 20:40, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Track listing & updates

I have re-listed the 50 Cent confirmed tracks along with making a table for the two RELEASED singles. Please do not edit or change until more tracks and/or track listings are OFFICIALLY (not rumored) confirmed. Please note I have not listed "Fully Loaded Clip" as it was not mentioned in the 106 & Park appearance and the album was pushed back. With the album being delayed and the track coming out so early, it will most likely be cut and once again has not been confirmed only recognized.

--egeiz (Talk) June 15, 2007

well done on your good work Trimy67

Great job. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 16:13, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
By the way, I removed the Interscope track listing as it is not correct (see our above discussion), and only kept the 50 Cent-confirmed tracks. Also formatted. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 21:16, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Singles

Question, should it be mentioned in the article that the four singles will be released before the release of his album (confirmed on an interview with Westwood). Also, we're not sure if there are going to be any singles releases post-album release. Just wondering if we should make note of that. Like to hear your thoughts on that, mainly Efil, Trimy, and Egeiz seeing as they are the most interested in helping this page. - NJ Rock 20:26, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

The Westwood interview is mentioned in the article --->
  • "While on Tim Westwood's show on BBC Radio 1, 50 Cent confirmed that four singles with videos will be released before the album's release date. 50 Cent named the following: "Straight to the Bank", "Amusement Park", "Come & Go", and "Follow My Lead". He also stated that "Straight to the Bank" is the only track that talks about money."

I think that is your question, if not then you will have to explain it better because I am a little bit confused, to be honest. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 20:39, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

forgot that part was in ther but the second part I'm talking bout is... nevermind, I forgot about that, thanks - NJ Rock 20:41, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

No problem, as to your second part, I really don't think we should make a note of anything other than what we know (that those four songs will be released as singles). --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 20:45, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

"AYO Technology" & "Fire" confirmed along with explanations

I have re-added the track "Fire" (featuring Young Buck & Nicole Scherzinger) to the confirmed track listing and cited the source. I have also added two paragraphs of explanations for the "AYO Technology" title and that it is also confirmed.

--egeiz (Talk) June 16, 2007 (3:57 AM EST)

Just so you know, I removed the explanation for "Fire", unless it is a single or something (and even then, it should not belong here, instead, in its own article), we should not have so much explained for it. Instead, I just added the source to the "Confirmed tracks" section. Also, I re-wrote the "AYO Technology" section, and also formatted singles, songs can't ever be italicized, I believe I either saw it in the Manual of Style, or some other WikiProject related to music. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 13:36, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
By the way, can you find that video somewhere else? I want to see it but I do not live in the United States and it gives me some crap about copyrights and all that. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 13:54, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T.I._vs._T.I.P. - I italicized because it simply looks better. Looks to plain without it and all of them scrunched together but doesn't really matter I guess.

--egeiz (Talk) June 16, 2007 (4:42 PM)

I agree, it does look better, but nonetheless, those are the rules, if those formatting rules would not exist they would make my life a lot easier. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 22:06, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Can someone look for a confirmation that Dr. Dre produced "Fire" because I saw it somewhere. Not positive though so definitely don't put it in until confirmation. - NJ Rock

Is this good? --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 22:50, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

bingo, thats good for me - NJ Rock

Great, glad I could help. By the way, please do not over link, that is usually frowned upon, and it might get some administrator that only care about formatting (I care about it too, but not always) and might want to remove the "<small>" tags that make the track listing not look sloppy. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 02:30, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Sorr bout the overlinkin thing, i thought it was people's personal aesthetics as to why they took it out, really didnt kno it frowned upon but thanks for tellin, and i didnt put in the small tags and hav no emotional attachment, be my guest to take em out - NJ Rock

No it is OK, I actually added the smal tags, although they are allowed I think, some administrators do not want them used, but they do make the article look better. Right now, I guess it's just me, you, and Egeiz doing our own thing really with this article, we are the only ones that are interested in improving it really. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 03:20, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Yessir, but it[s kinda cool I guess seeing as there's always a comment on things posted and we basically work in accord. Just keep up the good work. - NJ Rock

Agreed. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 12:49, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

"I'll Still Kill" or "Still Will Kill"

What do you guys think about the title of this song? Even though 50 Cent has confirmed it as "I'll Still Kill" you think it is possible he made a mistake as in the chorus it clearly states, "Oooooooh, don't even look at me wrong when I come through the hood -- Ain't nothing changed still holla at my homies -- Oooooooh and when I hit the block I still will kill -- And I don't want, but I will if I got to kill." Obviously is it possible he is not naming it exactly after the chorus and using a general name but was just curious as to your opinions. I'm outtie, long Friday night with the girl. Get at me though, one love.

--egeiz (Talk) June 16, 2007 (4:09 AM EST)

Probably using a general name for it. Anyway, if he referred to the song as "I'll Still Kill", then that is how we must refer to it also. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 13:53, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Fully Loaded Clip

I know he hasn't confirmed it, but he has talked about it and hasn't denied it being on the album so should we put "Fully Loaded Clip" under a "tentative tracks" heading? Leave that to you. - NJ Rock

Honestly, I would say no, just put the ones that were confirmed like the ones we have now. Maybe he will confirm it tomorrow, maybe not, but remember, Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, so just leave it the way it is until we have a source. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 15:38, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Alright - NJ Rock

Yeah, so if he actually does confirm it in another interview, feel free to add it. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 22:06, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

I heard somewhere that Fully Loaded Clip would be a bonus track...could be true or could be false but for now i think it shouldnt be added Trimy67

I agree with you, don't add yet, but it could be true. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 00:59, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Also i owuld like to apologize last week i had people using ma wikipedia account but i have now changed ma password. they were trying to start edit wars. sorry about that. Movin' On Up

Right Here it says that there's a track called "Movin' On Up"[2] produced by Jake One that was also in the iTunes and Interscope tracklist. I know 50 didn't confirm, just wondering if we should do anything about it. Thanks - NJ Rock

Looks like we have another track to watch for, after "Fully Loaded Clip". Just as in "Fully Loaded Clip"'s case, wait until 50 Cent himself confirms. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 18:07, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Sounds like a plan, anyone readin' this, keep your eyes open - NJ Rock

Yeah, and now that I am finished with my exams, I will have more time to try and improve articles, and in this article's case, add more information about it. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 18:28, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

OK, first of all, you are a vandal, you tried vandalizing user my page, you vandalized other user pages, you vandalized articles, you will be blocked soon, so maybe instead of criticizing us, stop acting like a moron. Second, you are obviously bullshitting as it is only June and the album will be released in September, so there is no real track listing. Final, you can add track listings all you want, but they will be reverted unless you have a source that states it was confirmed by 50 Cent himself. So don't come here and start bossing everyone around because you think you know some track listing. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 00:55, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

interscope tracklisting

The tracklisting on interscope along with the current album art posted on interscope with the tracklisting was incorrect. The tracklisitng was copied from the itunes tracklisitng whihc was confimred by 50cent to be fake. I was reading this information this morning but i am still trying ot find the soruce for it. Also i was looking at some old 50 cent albums before he hit mainstream and alot of the tracks on the interscope tracklisitng were on older albums before get rich or die trying. Trimy67

Yeah, I agree, but the Interscope track listing stopped being an issue about a week ago, but still, thank you for pointing the part with tracks from older albums being on the fake track listing, I actually did not notice that. --- Efil4tselaer: Resurrected 01:00, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

"She Want It" confirmed as third single (formerly AYO Technology)

An official video for "Follow My Lead," featuring Robin Thicke, was also filmed several weeks ago, but has since been shelved. Reps for Interscope explained that 50's next official single will be a record formerly called "Ayo Technology" that features Justin Timberlake and Timbaland. The record is now called "She Want It" and a video will be in production shortly.

Thank you for that link. Much appreciated. --- Realest4Life 13:15, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

No problem homay

--egeiz

So, the third single will be "She Want It", and we don't know yet about the other singles and their release dates right? "Follow My Lead" will be released later (?), and "Come & Go" does not have a release date either. Or will "Follow My Lead" still be released July 1st? --- Realest4Life 14:39, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

"She Want It" will be released next, meaning it will take the place of "Follow My Lead." It is obvious why 50 Cent made this move if you think about it. "She Want It" is a for sure hit which will bring a lot of publicity to the album itself being the big hit single. "Follow My Lead" is a good single to be released right after it because it follows the same genre but is more laid back. Then he hits us with "Come & Go" which will follow perfectly being that club banger. All makes sense really, Fiddy made a great choice on moving his album back.

--egeiz

Obviously, but you can tell that he really doesn't give a shit about the music anymore now that he works with pop singers like Timberlake. Too commercial now. His first album was above average, then his second album... I don't even wanna talk about it... Now Curtis... hmmm, with Justin Timberlake songs and Nicole Scherzinger songs, and other songs like "Amusement Park", I doubt it will be a good album. --- Realest4Life 22:02, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

All depends on your definition of "good". I mean, I am into just about every type of music but my girlfriend keeps me turned onto R&B, Pop Rap, Snap Rap etc... I enjoy classic MC's as much as the next person (2Pac & Bone Thugs 4 Life) but I just like to find a song that I can bang out to in my car and really feel the beat. I guess I am more of a production type of guy. If the beat is there the hook/verses can be average and I'll still be content listening to it so lyrical content is not a huge thing with me although good hooks do help the cause. 50 Cent is the go-to man for hooks/hit making so you know his album will be full of them tracks (beat & lyrics) you can bang out to either in the club, your car or whatever so that is why I feel his shit so much I think. Get at me and tell me if you feel what I'm saying homie as I love discussing music no matter the genre.

Fair enough, let's continue this discussion on our talk pages as this is for discussing on how to improve the article. --- Realest4Life 00:34, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

I Get Money

Anyone hear his new song? I guess it's the next single from Curtis. You can hear it on his myspace. The track is produced by scott boogie. volumesoxxs 01:55, 30 June 2007

Yup, he shot a video for it too, I just thought straight to the bank was the only track about money though... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.162.213.123 (talkcontribs)

Tracklist

50 Cent has said that 18 tracks on the album come. These 14 tracks come already once certainly:

  1. "All of Me" (featuring Mary J. Blige)
  2. "Amusement Park"
  3. "Come & Go" (featuring Eminem)
  4. "Fire" (featuring Nicole Scherzinger & Young Buck)
  5. "Follow My Lead" (featuring Robin Thicke)
  6. "Fully Loaded Clip"
  7. "I Get Money"
  8. "I'll Still Kill" (featuring Akon)
  9. "Peep Show" (featuring Eminem)
  10. "She Wants It" (featuring Justin Timberlake & Timbaland)
  11. "Straight to the Bank"
  12. "Touch the Sky" (featuring Tony Yayo)
  13. "Man Down"
  14. "Smile" (featuring Lloyd Banks)

--- G-Unit Soldier 12:12, 30 June 2007

Need a source otherwise it has to be confirmed to be added to the track list here.
--egeiz (Talk)

To "Man Down": During an interview said 50 Cent that "Man Down" shows a man on the street of another perspective. There was the interview sometimes on Gunitworld.com.

--- G-Unit Soldier 18:42, 30 June 2007

"Man Down" nor "Smile" is confirmed in any of these sources. Have read them plenty of times as I have cited most of them on the page. And where is this "interview" where he talks about "Man Down?"
--egeiz (Talk)
I just reverted as no sources have been given for "Smile" or "Man Down". --- Realest4Life 18:31, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
Also, the MySpace link is not working, it is just taking me to the MySpace page, but nothing about the album. So, you did not give any new sources other than the ones we already had before, and those ones only confirm the ones that we had yesterday. --- Realest4Life 18:42, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
"Man Down" I am not quite sure to me whether this track comes, but "Smile" is sure. I know this because he has said in Germany that this track comes. A part of the refrain are these lines: "smile nigga, my next album might be my last, got what i came to get, the stacks and the stash"

--- G-Unit Soldier 21:09, 30 June 2007

Look man, then give a source, we can't add this unless you have a source, I believe you when you say "Smile" is the next track, but we just can't add it without a source. --- Realest4Life 19:21, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
Unfortunately, I have no source. But now it makes absolutely no difference. We will see it on the 4th September.

--- G-Unit Soldier 22:35, 30 June 2007

"I Get Money" on Curtis

People, please remember not to add "I Get Money" to the track listing, or create articles for the song, as it is only a remix of "Straight to the Bank". --- Realest4Life 20:39, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

No, it isn't a remix...Do you have a source for this? 50 Cent has stated via Myspace bulletin that it will be on the album! Tom Danson 20:56, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
Actually, it is a remix, but that is not the point, if it is on the album, then give a source. I tried the MySpace link and it just said I should consider making an account for MySpace. If you can find another source that doesn't require you to make an account with MySpace, then add it. Also, then you can make an article for it, which I recently redirected to "Straight to the Bank". --- Realest4Life 21:00, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
Oh, and here is your source that confirms that "I Get Money" is only a remix of "Straight to the Bank". --- Realest4Life 21:32, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
Also, is the song actually a single? Or is it just a remix that will be also featured on the album, because if it is not a single, there shouldn't be any article for it. I think 50 Cent already confirmed all the singles, "Straight to the Bank", "Amusement Park", "She Want It", "Follow My Lead", and "Come & Go". --- Realest4Life 21:38, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

All right, I decided to trust you and mention the song in the article. I hope you were not lying about the MySpace bulletin. --- Realest4Life 02:14, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

o ye, and i saw the myspace thing, even tho i dont hav one... weird, and it says when u play the songs that the name of the album its from is "Curtis" so i f that helps at all - NJ Rock
All right, but I still have to put a "{{fact}}" template there, as it would otherwise be considered original research... or maybe it is, oh well, there will probably be a source that will confirm that "I Get Money" will be on the album to come up within the next few days. --- Realest4Life 02:26, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Beat stolen from Apex Productionz by Scott Boogie?

Please take into consideration if the beat is indeed stolen it would lie in the hands of the producer not 50 Cent. Now if Fiddy has some idea or actually knows it was stolen that is a whole different story but for now you can't place any blame as he doesn't make the beats that is the producer’s job. I know he has a lot creative control if not complete, but being that he discovered Scott Boogie I highly doubt he would question where the beat came from. In other words, before you start rumors please wait until more develops.

P.S. Good job on keeping things in order Realest and for not being stubborn as fuck like some people *cough*.

"Fully Loaded Clip" on Curtis

It says that "Fully Loaded Clip" is on the B-Side to the "Amusement Park" single. I know artists can put songs on B-Sides that are not on the album, but there is an "album version" of "Fully Loaded Clip" there. Should we add it? --- Realest4Life 18:21, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

That's fake. We have discussed this before, see here. --- Realest4Life 00:17, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Article requirements:

N A model article is useful for ideas to follow. There are many FAs at Wikipedia:Featured_articles#Music, a lot of which are on albums.
N The lead should be an accessible and inviting overview of the whole article. Nothing important should be in the lead only - since it is a summary, it should all be repeated in the body of the article itself - Kingdom Come is only in the lead.
N My rule of thumb is to include every header in the lead in some way, but Lyrics are not in the lead as one example. Please see WP:LEAD
N There are a lot of short (one or two sentence) paragraphs that should be combined or perhaps expanded.
N Article needs a copyedit, one example - these sentences could be combined to something like 50 Cent stated that the album was inspired by his life before his commercial debut, Get Rich or Die Tryin'. He also stated[, and] that he chose the album's title because he was known as "Curtis" before he became famous.[8]
N Article needs more references, for example all of the lyrics quoted seem to be uncited. The first lyrics quote also seems very long for fair use. My rule of thumb is that every quote, every statistic, every extraordinary claim and every paragraph needs a ref. See WP:CITE and WP:V
N The images were copyvio and so could not be on Commons (I noted them as copyvio there). I do think that the Rolling Stone cover could be used here under Fair Use (on Wikipedia). Not sure if the others could be used here or not.
N Many albums have a brief sound clip or two to illustrate the music styles etc. See some of the model FA articles.
N Quoting the entire Track listing seems too detailed
N Refs look OK, please make sure all sources meet WP:RS
