   In the Background section, you have this line: "Ramone and the other Warner executives present there, were impressed by Madonna's self-possession and fishnet-crucifix style." But I can't find that in the cite you use.

   C. No original research:

   You have a few places where you've interpreted things, as far as I can tell, e.g. in the Recording section, "An astounded Bettis went over to Lind's house," did he say he was astounded? I don't see a cite there. Also, the first two sentences of the Composition section sound like WP:OR. If those are actually covered in the cite you use from Rikky Rooksby, I'll accept it on good faith, but you might want to add the cite to those as well, or change the phrasing to indicate that was one opinion, as I see you mention the sophisticated part again in the next section, with a cite. In the Live performances section, her outfit is described without a cite, and her performance is described as "energetic." Who said that? Also, you have a direct Madonna quote of what she said after "Papa Don't Preach" without a cite.

   The line in the "Recording" section ran "An astounded Bettis went over to Lind's house, ultimately giving a warm welcome..." Its not wP:OR. If you want I can send you scans of the books, Im definitely not interpreting any of it. For the "Papa Don't Preach" quote, there is a book cite present. All the quotes have book references.    I just can't find that phrase about being astounded, or warmly receiving the record in the google books preview. If you can tell me exactly what the source says, though, I'll accept it. I'm thinking it might be better to put those phrases in quote, maybe, since they are somewhat loaded terms. I don't think it's encyclopedic to say someone was astounded. EDIT: Fixed.    As for the quotes from the live performance, my confusion comes from the fact that initially, it sounds like you're referring to the entire tour, as far as how she performed the song, but then it sounds like you're mentioning a specific one, without any transition or explanation. I think it would be better to change it to say that she always threw her shirt into the audience and said some variation on fans sticking with her for 20 years, as I found multiple versions of that quote in the source.    Overall, this is a really great, comprehensive article, that only needs a little bit of clarification and clean-up to get promoted to good article status. I'm putting it on hold until you clear up the few problems.

Everything has been addressed except for the one point about her live performances. I bolded it above. Just to clarify, there are two points. One, there is some confusion about whether you're referring to a series of performances, or just one particular performance. Two, I can't find that exact quote about fans being with her 20 years, although I can find a number of variations. I would suggest generalizing the information, as you did at first by saying she usually wore certain shirts. Continue by saying she usually would thank her fans of 20 years, and usually threw her shirt into the audience. If you want to have a specific quote, that's fine too, but you need to explain which live performance it was from. I personally think a general idea of multiple performances would be better, but it's your choice. Torchiest (talk | contribs) 12:42, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
