As far as I can see, there were courts of this kind still operating in the 20th century; but as part of local government reorganisation most were closed down. - From what I can understand, a court leet is a court baron, and court leets still exist, therefore court barons still exist. Int21h (talk) 20:17, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
Merger proposal edit
I am open to arguments, but I would oppose the move as suggested. A court baron and a court leet are two sub-sets of a manorial court. It would make more sense to merge those into manorial court, but I cannot see how manorial court can be merged into one.--SabreBD (talk) 23:33, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
I think manor court should be merged and removed, and redirected to this (court baron). As a court leet seems to be a special court baron (with extra juridiction), its really a subset of both manor courts and court barons, and hence would be unaffected by removal of the manor court article. If I remember correctly, a "baron" was nothing more than a title for those holding manors, and the associated manor courts were court barons (with the Law French word ordering).
