Talk:Council of Constantinople (536)

Roman empire edit

In 536, the emperor was a native Latin speaker and the province of Africa had been restored. 476 was in living memory. Moreover, there is no Holy Roman Empire that could possibly cause confusion. There were Italians at the council and the pope had just died in Constantinople. I do not believe it is necessary for clarity to use the term Byzantine here. "Roman", the contemporary term, will do.
