Yes it was. According to the book Another Brick in the Wall: The Stories Behind Every Pink Floyd Song, Syd does indeed appear on this track, "Set The Controls", "Remember A Day" and of course "Jugband Blues". It also mentions on the Echoes album that Syd is credited for guitars on Set the Controls. Doc Strange 16:10, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Doc, That particular book you cite is woefully inaccurate on many counts. However, you're right about the Echoes credits. And it does sound like Syd's guitar style on "Corporal Clegg", at any rate. As for Martyn's comments, it's not necessarily a question of the "five-man Floyd" being recorded, but rather a case of a particular recording being started when Syd was still active, but finished later with Gilmour.--63.25.99.176 (talk) 15:34, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Seeing that you have a source saying that Syd Barrett does sing on this track, you should find a source that says he does not if you are not going to include his participation on the main page. However, I will find a second source that confirms Barrett's vocals on this track. It certainly sounds a heck of a lot like him during certain parts, so I am confident I will find this and then update the article accordingly. Barrett wasn't featured I was self-taught and my only group was Pink Floyd. I was not featured on 'Corporal Clegg' but did play on another track written by Richard Wright. I forget the title but it had a steel guitar in the background. There have been complications regarding the LP but it is now almost finished and should be issued by EMI in a few months. Who sings the "Dear, oh dear, Are they really sad for me? Dear, oh dear, Will they really laugh at me?" lyrics? That's Syd Barrett, correct? It sounds like his voice. As a result, he performed on this song.

"citation needed", Roger Waters interview with MOJO magazine

I remember reading that interview and remember (not perfectly!) that Roger Waters did indeed say something of that nature. I have every issue of MOJO since 2000 and could no doubt trace that particular interview.
