Confirming Salinger's date of death edit

I've been doing some work on the Salinger article and wonder whether we have his date of death correct.

I know the Internet Movie Database gives it as 9 July 1961, as does other sources, but on ancestry.com I've found numerous sources, including newpaper reports, referring to 17 June 1962.

Does somewhat have access to his Californian death certificate to settle this discrepancy?

If we change his date of death, we'll have to inform Imdb too.

Thanks for inputGBS2 (talk) 19:59, 2 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Revised entry edit

Based on advice received from the biography editors and confirmation in the Californian Death Records, I have gone ahead and changed his date of death and introduced some further amendments, including headers and new references. GBS2 (talk) 13:57, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Maybe an Early Career and Broadway shows section? edit

Wondering if anyone has done preliminary research to add a new section on his pre-Hollywood career? Other editors can pitch in to elaborate that para once a stub gets going. GBS2 (talk) 03:06, 20 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
