This is a true story, as Martina HAS said so, herself. Martina's mother was abusive, so remember, this is her lifestory.

The article does not state that Judith Barsi was the inspiration for this song, but does mislead so an average person could erroneously make that connection since it does tie in very nicely. In an interview with Stephanie, the original inspiration is spelled out. [1]http://magazine.angrycountry.com/article.php?story=20050207135102140. Martina McBride was selected after the song was written and had nothing to do with its creation.
The song was inspired by a angel headstone of a child. that caused Stephanie to become sad and say the words "Concrete Angel" and pondering the meaning of the 2 seemingly opposite words. Together with Rob Crosby they decided to go with a child abuse theme and wrote the song in about 1 hour. Judith Barsi also has nothing to do with this song unless hers is the grave Stephanie saw off of Hillsboro road which is unlikely since one is in Georgia and the other is in California. — Preceding unsigned comment added by George K. Music video edit
The music video is here. Regarding the version in the current edit (15:39, 2011 October 28 72.200.219.249). The video does not show the two alone together. That the boy is dead at the time of the funeral is certain; his cause of death is not given. My interpretation is the girl being unhappy in life is befriended by an angel who attends her funeral and continues to be her friend after her death. The fatal beating of the girl having had nothing to do with their relationship.1archie99 (talk) 13:55, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
- Clarifying and correcting my earlier edit- Since the boy was an angel and had no physical prescence the mother could not catch them alone together as the article edit states. When I stated that the boy and the girl were not shown together I was talking about the mother looking for a reason to beat the girl; there is per the video no reason and the boy sadly watches from the vacant house as the little girl suffers the fatal beating from the person who should be caring for her.1archie99 (talk) 16:59, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
Disambiguation needed? edit
This is also the title of a song from Gareth Emery and Christina Novelli (which does not have its own wiki page, but is discussed in both of their pages). As it stands today, the Gareth Emery/Christina Novelli is being played constantly on multiple radio stations, even though it is a couple of years old. While I don't propose giving their song a wiki page, would it be possible to have a disambiguation that points back to their pages? When I was trying to get info on their song, search keep bringing me here, which was confusing since I hadn't even realized there was a prior song with this title.
