Since this article is so small, and is already discussed in the article on hierarchical queries, I think the two should be merged. Hertzsprung (talk) 00:05, 8 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, go on! This article doesn't relate to a "why" context as it is. The article on Hierarchical query might be that context. ... said: Rursus (bork²) 20:55, 31 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

While a link is in the referenced hierarchical query article, it is only a link. How does that qualify as a discussion? A Common Table Expression/Subquery Factoring Clause implements the WITH clause hopefully in compliance with the ANSI SQL: 1999 Specification. It doesn't directly support hierarchical queries, unless you provide a WITH expression for each successive depth of said query. I believe it requires it's only entry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.174.81.138 (talk) 17:35, 24 October 2009 (UTC)--75.174.81.138 (talk) 17:38, 24 October 2009 (UTC)Michael McLaughlinReply

Disagree, this construct has plenty of uses oter than forming hierarchical queries. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 17.209.4.116 (talk) 17:58, 20 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
