Article now has adequate synthesis of the topic to stand on its own. There are, however, other areas that may worth be adding when time is available to work further on this:

  • discussion on pre-insolvency remedies available on the Canadian scene (but this may call for detailed analysis of the various province-by-province options)
  • further detail about the CCAA (or maybe the creation of a separate article for this topic)

I have tried to stay away from detailed emphasis of arcane topics, in order to focus on what would be of importance to the general user or business person. Raellerby (talk) 01:30, 12 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Current assessment of topic edit

Bankruptcy and insolvency, by definition, are intricately detailed topics - Chapter 11 in the US and the Insolvency Act 1986 in the UK are even more hideously complex. I have attempted to simplify the matter as far as Canada is concerned, but I note that there have been no more experienced commentators on the subject that have joined in. Previous discussion on Consumer bankruptcy in Canada had confused the issue greatly through indiscriminate copying of government releases that mixed up consumer, commercial and process aspects, and that was carved out and placed here and in the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. It is still a definite improvement, and more on topic. If I didn't make extensive use of footnotes, the article would be quite impenetrable.

All contributions would be cheerfully accepted, in order to make this more accessible to a general audience. A separate article on the CCAA would probably greatly help as well.Raellerby (talk) 12:34, 23 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
