It's Notable edit

It is still one of the most memorable brawls in sports history and probably the most memorable in hockey history.

I agree. Perhaps as time goes on, it will mean less. But right now, it continues to be a memorable moment especially for the Avalanche and the Red Wings, a notable hockey rivalry. Theaterdude88 01:17, 29 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Only One edit

I can't believe that this is the only Wikipedia arcticle about an NHL brawl. If someone would add more, maybe, that would be great. 24.83.3.54 22:31, 15 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Osgood threw Roy down? edit

I took out a sentence that stated Osgood threw down Roy. That's nonsense. Osgood was pushing Roy back and so Roy fell against the boards. No one who saw the fight, and is objective, would have said Roy was thrown down. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.240.96.109 (talk) 23:59, 6 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Colorado Avalanche–Detroit Red Wings brawlAvalanche–Red Wings brawl – The Penguins–Islanders brawl was moved back to its original title after undergoing a move such as this, due to the fact that adding the geographical names was wholly unnecessary. This article should follow suit as well. 2601:282:300:98:BD92:F012:50B7:7BBD (talk) 03:07, 10 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • Support for consistency.  ONR  (talk)  23:48, 10 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. The articles for the two teams are not at Avalanche or Red Wings, so I don't see why this should be. The current title is more easily recognizable for people who aren't intimately familiar with hockey team nick names.  — Amakuru (talk) 21:47, 18 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment Is there a guideline and/or naming convention you are trying to follow here? Something from the Manual of Style or the Ice Hockey Project perhaps? Rejectwater (talk) 06:50, 20 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
