Changes edit

I have reverted a recent set of unexplained changes - for the following reasons:

  1. These edits changed the principal article title to "Coillte". While Coillte may be the common name (as reflected in the infobox), the official name of the company (per the relevant act is "Coillte Teoranta". (The change also had the effect of making the Irish translation explanation inaccurate).
  2. These edits (inexplicably) removed the company type from the infobox. The company is verifyably a "statutory company" (being laid down in law), and one which operates as a government owned "Commercial state enterprise".[1] I can therefore see no valid reason for removing that clarification from the infobox.
  3. The edits removed the "1,100 employees" assertion (and the reference supporting this number) and replaced it with another number - which did not have a supporting ref.
  4. These edits "copied and pasted" content (verbatim) from the 2009 annual report. (A COPYVIO issue).

It would be great if the editing anon can explain the rationale for these edits, so we can figure out how to address any issues with the current text. Guliolopez (talk) 18:33, 17 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

(Coming from a post to WikiProject Ireland.))
I agree with all points except (1).
Per the naming conventions for companies, "The legal status suffix of a company (such as Inc., plc or LLC, or those provided for companies in other languages such as GmbH, AG, or S.A.) is not normally included in the article title (for example, Microsoft Corporation, Nestlé S.A., Aflac Incorporated, Deutsche Post AG, and GMAC LLC)."
The article should be moved to simply Coillte and the lead (both name and translation) should be ammended. --RA (talk) 10:13, 1 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

% ha forested edit

In the text:

  • "The Coillte estate is 4,450 square kilometres of which 79% is forest; it owns 70% of forests in the country."
  • "Between 1989 and 2007 Coillte has: Increased its Forest estate from 376,000ha to 445,421 ha. (445,315 ha are forested)."

Those 2 lines are in contradiction. Where can we check that? --Rougieux (talk) 15:45, 30 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
