Missing from this article. The settlement of Old Cogan near St Peters Church in Penarth. Old Cogan Manor was probably the home of Milo De Cogan in 1100 and that location is now where Old Cogan Farm is located. The farm is in a hollow originally called the Cog. The name Cog derives from the Danish word Kog meaning a hollow area of marshland. Ref: A history of Penarth by Roy Thorne. 1975.
